This is the account of the Passover
 

Exodus 12:1-51

Exo 12:1 And יהוה spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, to say, 2 This renewed month shall be to you the head of renewed months: he shall be to you the first for the renewed months of the Year.

3 Speak to all of the Congregation of Israel, to say, On the ten of this renewed month, and they shall take a man for themselves a lamb for a house of their father, a lamb for the house: 4 And if the household shall be little with being with the lamb, and he and his tabernacler (inhabitor) that is near [(, the one near)] to his house shall take on the enumeration (number, assessment) of the souls; You shall count (assess) upon the lamb a man by the mouth of his eating. 5 A lamb shall be a perfect (complete) remembered one (male) of a son of a year: shall be for yourselves from the sheep, and you shall take from the kids (young goats):

6 And shall be for you to guard (observe, heed) until the four ten (fourteen) day of (for) this renewed month: and all of the Assembly of the Congregation of Israel, they shall slaughter him between the mixing periods. 7 And they shall take from the blood and they shall give him upon the two side posts, and upon the upper door post (lentil) upon the houses which they shall eat him in them. 8 And they shall eat את-the flesh in this night roasted of fire; and they shall eat unleavened upon bitters (bitter foods, bitter herbs). 9 You shall not eat from him raw (tough), and sodden (boiling) from boiling in water, for but roasted of fire; his head shall be upon (over) his shoulder legs and upon (over) his nearness (inwards). 10 And you shall not have yether-remain (have a remnant) from him until breaking period (morning); and of that yether-remaining (remnant, rest) from him until breaking period (morning) you shall burn up in the fire. 11 And according to [(as)] thus, you shall eat him with your loins (waist) girded, your sandals on your feet, and your shoots (sticks, germinated sticks) in your hand; And you shall eat him in haste (hasty flight): He is the Passover to יהוה

12 And I will go over in the land of Egypt in this night, and will strike every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from Adam and unto animal; and I will do (make, execute) judgments (ordinances) on all of the elohim of Egypt: I am יהוה.

13 And the blood shall be to (for) you for a Sign upon the houses which you are there: And I will see את-the blood, I will pass by, over (upon) you, and the plague shall not be on you to be destroyed in My striking in the land of Egypt. 14 And this day shall be to you for a Memorial (Remembrance); and you shall celebrate (make festive of) him of a Feast to יהוה for your generations; you shall celebrate (make festive of) him of a Statute of Ages.

15 Seven days shall you shall eat unleavened; Surely, on the first day you shall desist (cease, rid) sourdough from your houses: for anyone eating leavened from the first day unto the seventh day, and that soul shall be cut off her from Israel. 16 And on the first day shall be a Sacred (Holy) Calling (Convocation), and on the seventh day shall be a Sacred (Holy) Calling (Convocation) to yourselves; Any work shall not be done in them, surely which shall be eaten by every soul, he by his apartness shall be done to you [(by his aloneness, he shall be done to you)]. 17 And you will guard (keep, observe, heed) the Feast of את-the Unleavened; for on this same day, I have brought out את-your armies from the land of Egypt: and you will guard (keep, observe, heed) את-this day for your generations for a Statute of Ages.

18 In the first, on the four ten (fourteen) day of the renewed month, in the mixing period (evening), you shall eat unleavened, until the one and twenty day of the renewed month in the mixing period (evening). 19 Sourdough shall not be found in your houses seven days: for anyone eating from the leavened, and that soul shall be cut off her from the Congregation of Israel, among the sojourner, and among the native of the land. 20 You shall not eat any leavened; you shall eat unleavened in all of your dwellings.

21 And Moses called for all of the Elders of Israel, and said to them, Draw out and take [(They shall draw out, and they shall take)] for yourselves of the flock for your families, and slaughter the Passover. 22 And you shall take a bundle (bunch) of hyssop, and you shall dip in the blood which is in the bason (bowl), and you shall smite (antiplague, plague) to the upper door post (lintel) and to the two side posts from the blood which is in the basin; and you, a man of you shall not go out from the entrance of his house until breaking period (morning). 23 And יהוה will go over to plague (gore, stumble) את-Egypt; and shall see את-the blood upon the upper door post (lintel) and upon the two side posts, and יהוה will pass by over (upon) the entrance, and will not give the destroyer to come to your houses to plague (gore, stumble). 24 And you shall guard (keep, observe, heed) את-this Word for a Statute to yourself and to your sons unto ages.

25 And shall be, when you come to the land which יהוה will give to you as the which was spoken, and you shall guard (keep, observe, heed) את-this Service. 26 And shall be, when your sons, they shall say to you, What is this service to you? 27 And you shall say, He is the Sacrifice of the Passover to יהוה which passed by over (upon) the houses of the Sons of Israel in Egypt, in His plaguing (goreing, stumbling) את-Egypt, and delivered (rescued) את-our houses. And the People bowed, and they worshipped. 28 And the Sons of Israel, they went, and they did as the which יהוה commanded את-Moses and Aaron, so they did.

29 And was, in the middle (halfway) of the night, and יהוה struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat upon his throne, unto the firstborn of the captive which was in the house of the bore-prison; and every firstborn of animals.

30 And Pharaoh arose at night, he, and all his servants, and all of Egypt; and she was a great cry in Egypt; for was not a house which a dead one (a death) was not there. 31 And called for Moses and for Aaron at night, and said, Arise! and go out from the midst of my people, also you, also the Sons of Israel; And go, serve את-יהוה according to [(as)] your word! 32 Take also your flocks, also your herds as the which you spoke, and go; And you bless me also!

33 And Egypt, she was strong upon the people to hasten to send them away from the land; for they said, All of us will be dead ones. 34 And the people lifted (bore, carried) את-his dough before (not yet) becoming leavened, their kneading troughs were bound in their clothes upon their shoulders. 35 And the Sons of Israel, they did according to [(as)] the word of Moses; and they asked from Egypt vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing: 36 And יהוה gave the People את-grace (favor) in the eyes of את-Egypt, and was asked of them, and they plundered את-Egypt.

37 And the Sons of Israel, they journeyed (pulled up) from Rameses to Succoth according to [(as)] six hundred thousand mighty men of foot, by apart from the little ones. 38 And also a mixed multitude ascended with them; and flocks, and herds, much heavy livestock.

39 And they baked את-the dough which they brought out from Egypt of unleavened round cakes, for was not leavened; For they were driven out from Egypt, and and they were not able to delay (tarry, linger) her, and also they did not do (make, prepare) for themselves provision (victuals, game food).

40 And the dwelling of the Sons of Israel, which they dwelled in Egypt was thirty years and four hundred years. 41 And was from the end of thirty years and four hundred years, and was in this same day, all of the armies of יהוה, they went out from the land of Egypt. 42 He was a Night of Observation (Guarding, Heeding) to יהוה for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: he is this night to יהוה an Observance (Guarding, Heeding) for all of the Sons of Israel for their generations.

43 And יהוה said to Moses and Aaron, This is the Statute of the Passover: Every son of a foreigner shall not eat on him: 44 And every servant of a man purchased (bought) of silver, and you shall circumcise him, then shall eat on him. 45 A dweller (foreign dweller) and a hired servant shall not eat on him. 46 Shall be eaten in one house; you shall not go out from the flesh from the house to the outside; and you shall not shever-break a bone on him. 47 All of the Congregation of Israel, they shall do (make, prepare) him. 48 And when a sojourns (stranger) shall sojourn with you, and shall do the Passover to יהוה, every remembered one (male) to him shall be circumcised, and then shall come near to do (make, prepare) him; and shall be like the native of the land: and anyone uncircumcised shall not eat on him. 49 One Teaching (Torah) shall be to the native and to the sojourner that sojourns in your midst. 50 And all of the Sons of Israel, they did as the which יהוה commanded את-Moses and את-Aaron, so they did. 51 And was on this same day that hwhy brought out את-the Sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, upon their armies.


We will look into some elements of the Exodus' Passover
 

THE LEAVENING 

Looking at verse fifteen again in the Exodus passage:

 

Exodus 12:15

Exo 12:15 Seven days shall you shall eat unleavened; Only on the first day you shall cease sourdough from your houses: for anyone eating leavened bread from the first day unto the seventh day, and that soul, she shall be cut off from Israel. 

I want to look at two words in this verse, "sourdough" and "leavened bread". The first word, leaven, comes from the Hebrew word "se'ohr"- Shin, Aleph and Resh. If you look at this word you can see our modern English word. And it is "sour" as in "sourdough". This sourdough is considered to be their starter dough. This sourdough is a "continous living organism" that the Israelites used as a leavining starter and is continually replenished to create leavened bread. We can figure that it can symbolically applies to sin, and sin can be used and can be replenished if we choose to let it. In order to get rid of this "living organism of sin", we need to put it to death by putting it at the cross and put it in captivity to put into the obedience of the Messiah, which is based by the apostle Paul in his letter to the assembly in Corinth

2 Corinthians 10:3

2Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through יהוה to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the Knowledge of יהוה, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Messiah;

This word could have been to what Yeshua was referring to when He stated "Take heed and beware the leaven of the Pharisees and Saducees" (Matthew 16:6), because they were the sourdough, the living organism starters, of the Pharisees' false teachings and false doctrines.

The next word, leavened bread, is from the Hebrew word "khah-mehts"- Khet, Mem, Tsade. The leavened bread is the finished product and the end result of the application and process of the sourdough. Also the completion of the product results in cooking the bread, which would stop of leavening process. This also needs to be rid from our houses. This could be considered the fruition of sin in our lives by acting out the sin: malice, anger, slander, fornication, etc.


 

THE PASSOVER ANIMAL

In verse five of the Exodus passage, the Passover animal could be a lamb or a goat, a son of a year, and it was brought into the home on the 10th day of Aviv, and it was to be perfect. And on the 14th day of Aviv it was to be cooked by roasting it on the fire. It was not to be raw, meaning tough or dried like a jerky, nor soddened. Is it possible that when the Israelites ate any part of the Passover lamb that they were healed? I have yet to find in the scriptures stating that they did, but I would not be surprised that they were physically healed as a result. If you think about it, can you see an old man, limping or in physical weakness from wear and tear from being a slave and being of old age, traveling miles and miles of desert traveling to the Red Sea and crossing over it? In my opinion, it would make sense that all the Israelites were restored from all of their ailments by eating the Passover lamb. So think of it: An Israelite, being blind, eating a lamb's eye, and then can see. Isn't this one of the healings that Yeshua did in His mission? One can see this in Matthew 11:4-5:

Matthew 11:4-5

Mat  11:4 Yeshua answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: 5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the Gospel preached to them.
 

Yeshua healed many people of various illnesses including death during His Ministry on earth.  He was the Passover Lamb of Exodus.

To me, the possible events of supernatural healings during the Exodus' Passover were types and shadows of Yeshua's ministry.

 

THE PASSOVER ANIMAL KILLED IN THE EVENING 

I have accepted this notion that the Passover animal was killed in the evening for a long time until I looked in the Hebrew scriptures. In the Hebrew it says "...bein ha-arbaim..." which is interpreted "between the evenings". When I saw that phrase I was asking myself "What time did 'between the evenings' occur?" After studying for a while, at first, I concluded that it was during the daytime, from 6 AM to 6 PM. Later, in time, I heard others state that between the evenings occurred between 12 PM and 6 PM. I questioned the idea.

But later in time, I started to research, and at first concluded that "between the evenings" occurred at sunset on the 14th, the beginning of the first evening, and the 15th, the beginning of the second evening, which means a 24 hour period. I studied the context in the scriptures more on the Passover event with this theoretic time frame, and realized if that was the case, Israelites would not have been able to kill the Passover animal before the Angel of Death came in the middle of the night. The word, "middle" is from the Strong's concordance number 2677 from the Hebrew word "khatsee"- Khet, Tsade and Yod. And looking further it is from the Strong's number 2673 of the Hebrew word "khatsah"- Khet, Tsade and Heh which is interpreted as split in two, and it is also where we get the modern English word from the Hebrew "cut" as in "cut in half". So it is saying that the Angel of Death came in the middle of the night, and they would not have been able to put the blood on the lintel and the door posts after that point in time. Also the Israelites were commanded to burn what was left of the Passover animal in the morning. Based on this twenty four hour time line, that would have been too late for the Israelites to start killing the animal. Also, how can they start to kill the animal in the daytime if they are to go out and take the spoils from Egypt? That does not make sense either. So that throws this theory out the window.

So here is my latest realization: the word "evenings" is not the right interpretation. I looked it up in the concordance, and it comes from the Strong's concordance number 6153 from the word "erev" meaning "dusk". But in looking further, it is based from Strong's number 6148 from the word "arav" which, and it is interpreted as "mingle" and "intermix" and "braid". This is where we get our modern English word "arrive" as in "arriving at a destination". This means, to me, that it refers to the mixing, or mingling, of light and darkness. If we apply this interpretation to the phrase, it becomes "between the mixing periods" or "between the mingling periods". This only occurs after sunset and before sunrise. This means that "between the mixing periods" is in the night. Given that it would have been impossible to have the lamb slain in 3 AM in the morning, otherwise those who would have waited to do it then would have caused a loss in their household. It was understood they had to kill it first thing after sunset when the new day started in the fourteenth day of Aviv. Because it says in the text that whatever is left of the lamb is to be burned "in the breaking period (morning)", when the night time ended.

So now we understand the structure of this theory, we need to ask ourselves, does this work? Let's look at the event: They were told to kill the Passover animal between the mixing periods. That means each member or members of the household had to kill the Passover after the sun sets. So that gave them the time to put the blood on the lintel and the door posts, and have time to eat the Passover before the Angel of Death arrived half way, or the "cut half" of the night. It would give them the means to burn what's left of the animal in the morning and go out to take spoil from the Egyptians during the day of the fourteenth of Aviv.

This theory makes the most sense.



THE BLOOD
 
The blood played the most crucial role in the Passover event. They took hyssop and painted the blood on the lintel and the two doorposts (Exodus 12:22). The hyssop, as you know was mentioned by David in Psalm 51 as a means of cleansing. I'm not clear if there is an cleansing application from the hyssop as a brush to paint the lintel and the two door posts with the blood, but it is worth meditating. The blood, from a clean animal, became the first born of Israel's protection from the Angel of Death. The death of all of the first born of Egypt was their ultimate punishment, because Pharaoh would not let go of יהוה's firstborn, Israel (Exodus 4:22).

In my opinion, this is a type of shadow of us being painted, or covered, by the blood of the Lamb of Elohim, who is Yeshua, the Eternal Passover Lamb who has been protecting us from the spirit of the eternal death of Satan. For this is what Paul wrote in his letter to the assembly in Corinth
 

1st Corinthians 5:7
1 Cor 5:7 ...For even Messiah, our Passover, is sacrificed for us: 

We need to thank Yeshua for being our Eternal Passover Lamb and shedding His Blood for us to cover us from eternal death.

 

THE MOON

In the passover movies (i.e. The Ten Commandments), they always put the moon in a slivered state. The fact is, the moon was a full moon, because it occurred on the 14th day of the month. How long does the moon take to become full from the day of its first appearance? Fourteen days!

 

JOSEPH'S COFFIN

What about Joseph and  his coffin?  

Genesis 50:24-26

Gen 50:24 And Joseph said to his brothers, I am dying: and Elohim, visiting, will visit you, and will ascend you from this land to the land which was sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 25 And Joseph swore את-the Sons of Israel, to say, Elohim, visiting, will visit you, and you shall ascend את-my bones from this (here). 26 And was the death of Joseph [(And Joseph died)] a son of a hundred and the ten years: And they embalmed him, and was put in the coffin (ark) in Egypt.

Exodus 13:19

Exo 13:19 And Moses took את-the bones of Joseph with him: for that swearing, swore את-the Sons of Israel, to say, Elohim, visiting, will visit you; and you shall ascend את-my bones from this (here) with you.
 


Think of it. Joseph was the only dead man not walking through Israel's travels in Egypt in their forty years' journey in the wilderness. To me, it would have made sense that he and his coffin would have been put on a cart during their sojournings. I wish the movie directors made more emphasis with Joseph's coffin in their films. Also, he should have been put in the Guinness Book of World Records for a dead man traveling the longest distance without flying a plane or sailing on a boat.
 
 

THE KNEADING TROUGHS

We see here in the beginning of the Exodus travels in Exodus 12:34 that they were carrying their kneading troughs. If I am correct, the kneading troughs were made of wood. I don't think they would carry a stone kneading trough. That would be too heavy for them to carry long distances. And it also says that they were bound in their clothing and they laid them upon their shoulders. I have yet to hear someone talk about this, but does this scenario sound familiar to you? Matthew, Mark and Luke says almost the exact same phrase, but I will use the Gospel of Matthew passage:

Matthew 16:24

Mat 16:24 Then said Yeshua unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Based on this verse, the account from Exodus 12:34 was the first act of the Israelites to deny themselves, take up their wooden crosses (in the Exodus' case, their wooden kneading troughs) and following hwhy by a Pillar of a Cloud by day and a Pillar of Fire by night. These were types and shadows in our case today of us taking up our wooden cross and following Yeshua.


 

THE PASSOVER IN THE PROMISED LAND

This is what the Torah says how the Israelites are to observe the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread when they enter into the promised land:

Exodus 13:1-10, 14-16

Exo 13:1 And יהוה spoke to Moses, to say, 2 Set apart (Sanctify) to Me every firstborn opening (bursting forth, cleaving forth) every matrix (womb) among the Sons of Israel, among the Adam and among the animals: he shall belong to Me. 3 And Moses said to the People, Remember את-this day which you came out from Egypt, from the house of slaves (slavery, bondage); for on the Strong Hand, יהוה brought you out from this (here): And shall not eat leavened bread there. 4 Today (The day), you are going out in the renewed month of the Aviv. 5 And shall be, when יהוה shall bring you to the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites which was sworn to your fathers to give to you a land flowing with fatness (milk) and thickness (honey) [(fatness and thickness, milk and honey)], and you shall serve את-this Service in this renewed month. 6 Seven days you shall eat unleavened, and on the seventh shall be a Feast to יהוה.
 7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten את the seven days; and leavened bread shall not be seen by you, and sourdough shall not be seen by you in all of your borders. 8 And you shall tell (declare, explain) to your son in that day, to say, In order (In over) יהוה did this for me in my coming out from Egypt. 9 And shall be to you for a Sign upon your hand, and for a Memorial between your eyes, by that, the Teaching (Torah) of יהוה, she will be in your mouth: for on a Strong Hand יהוה brought you out from Egypt. 10 And you shall guard (observe, heed) את-this Statute to her Appointed Time from days to days....  14 And shall be, when your son asks you at a later time [(asks you later)], to say, What is this? And you shall say to him, On the Strong Hand, יהוה brought us out from Egypt, from the house of slaves (slavery, bondage): 15 And was, when Pharaoh was hardened to send us away, and יהוה killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Adam, and unto the firstborn of animals: Upon thus, I sacrifice to יהוה all of the remembered ones (males) opening (bursting forth, cleaving forth) the matrix (womb); and I redeem every firstborn of my sons.

16 And shall be for a Sign upon your hand, and for Frontlets between your eyes: for on a Strong Hand, hwhy brought us out from Egypt.



THE DEPARTURE DATE IN RAMESES

This is the scripture verses that show the day of their departure from Rameses in the book of Numbers

Numbers 33:3-4

Num 33:3 And they pulled up from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; from after the Passover they went out, the sons of Israel, on a High Hand to the eyes of all of the Egyptians. 4 And Egypt was burying את whom יהוה had struck among them: every firstborn and among their elohim, יהוה executed judgments.

They left Ramses on the 15th day of Aviv, and it is most possible they left at the night of the 15th, because they had the pillar of fire by night to leave them.


Were the Israelites departure from Rameses a type and shadow of the Feast of First Fruits? We know that Israel is hwhy's first born (Exodus 4:22)- His "First Fruits". Wouldn't it make sense that their departure occurred on that high holy day? If this is so, it would be a shadow and type of Yeshua, the first born of hwhy, that resurrected on First Fruits at night and become the first born, or "first fruits", among many brethren.



EXODUS JOURNEY TO THE SEA AND THE CROSSING

This is the account of the Exodus travel to the sea and the sea crossing

Exodus 13:17-19; 14:1-31

Exo 13:17 And was, in Pharaoh sending away את-the People, and Elohim did not lead them at the way of the land of the Philistim, for he was near; for Elohim said, Lest (Facing) the People repent [(be sorry)] in their seeing war and they return to Egypt: 18 And Elohim circumvented (turned) את-the People the way at the wilderness of Yam Suph [(the Sea of Reeds, the Red Sea)]: And the stouted (staunched) [(And the fifth ranked (harnessed, bodied))] Sons of Israel, they ascended from the land of Egypt. 19 And Moses took את-the bones of Joseph with him: for that swearing, swore את-the Sons of Israel, to say, Elohim, visiting, will visit you; and you shall ascend את-my bones from this (here) with you....14:1 And יהוה spoke to Moses, to say, 2 Speak to the Sons of Israel, and they will return, and they will camp to the face of Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and between the sea, to face (by facing) Baal Zephon; you shall camp forward (opposite) upon (over) the sea. 3 And Pharaoh will say to the Sons of Israel, They are entangled (perplexed) in the land. The wilderness has shut up upon them. 4 And I will strengthen את-the heart of Pharaoh and will pursue (chase) after them; and I will be glorified (honored) among Pharaoh, and among all of his force (valiant ones); and Egypt, they shall know for I am יהוה. And they did so.

5 And was told (declared) to the king of Egypt for the People had bolted away (ran away): and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants had changed to the People, and they said, What is this we have done?! For we have sent away את-Israel from serving us! 6 And את-his chariot was [(chariots were)] prepared, and took את-his people with him: 7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all of the chariots of Egypt, and three rankers (third rankers) over (upon) all of him. 8 And יהוה strengthened את-the heart of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and pursued (chased) after the Sons of Israel: And the Sons of Israel had gone out on a Raised Hand [(High Hand)]. 9 And Egypt, they pursued (chased) after them, and all of the horses, chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen (hoofmen), and his force (valiant ones), they overtook them camping upon the sea, upon Pi Hahiroth, to the face of Baal Zephon.

10 And Pharaoh drew near, and the Sons of Israel, they lifted up את-their eyes, and behold, Egypt was marching (journeying) after them; and they feared much: and the Sons of Israel, they tsah-ahk shrieked (tsah-ahk-cried) to יהוה.

11 And they said to Moses, That with failing were no graves were in Egypt to have us take taken to the death in the wilderness? What is this you have done to us to bring us out [(by bringing us out)] from Egypt?! 12 Is that not this [(Is this not that)] the word which we spoke to you in Egypt, to say, Leave (Lack away) from us, and we will serve את-Egypt (the Egyptians)? For is good (better) for us serving את-Egypt than us dying in the wilderness. 13 And Moses said unto the People, Do you not fear. Stand and see את-the Salvation of יהוה which He will do for you today (the day): for which you see את-Egypt today, you shall not add (again) at seeing them [(see them again)] any more unto ages. 14 יהוה shall war for you, and you, you be silent.

15 And יהוה said to Moses, What is your tsah-ahk- shriek (tsah-ahk-cry) to Me? Speak to the Sons of Israel, and they shall pull up (journey): 16 And you, raise your את-staff (rod, branch), and stretch out (stretch forth) את-your hand over (upon) the sea, and they will break apart (rip apart, zip open): And the Sons of Israel, they will go in the midst of the sea, on dry ground. 17 And behold I, I am with strengthening את-the heart of Egypt, and they will go after them: And I will be glorified (honored) among Pharaoh, and among all of his force (valiant ones), among his chariots, and among his horsemen (hoofmen). 18 And Egypt, they shall know for I am יהוה in My being glorified (honored) among Pharaoh, among his chariots, and among his horsemen (hoofmen).

19 And the Messenger of The Elohim that is going to the face of the Camp of Israel pulled up (journeyed), and went from behind them; And the Pillar of the Cloud pulled up (journeyed) from their faces and stood from behind them: 20 And came between the camp of Egypt and between the Camp of Israel; and was the Cloud and the darkness, and lighted את-the night: And did not come near, this one to this one all of the night.

21 And Moses stretched out (stretched forth) את-his hand over (upon) the sea; and יהוה made go (depart, walked away) את-the sea on a fierce (harsh, ?strong?) east wind all of the night, and did (made) את-the sea to dry ground, and the waters, they broke apart (ripped apart, zipped open).

22 And the Sons of Israel, they came to the midst of the sea on the dry ground: and the waters to them had a wall from their right and from their small (left). 23 And Egypt, they pursued (chased), and they came after them to the midst of the sea, all of the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen (hoofmen).

24 And was, in the breaking period (morning) guard (keeping, observance, heeding), יהוה leaned out (peeped, gazed) to the camp of Egypt in the Pillar of Fire and of the Cloud, and confused (disturbed, discomfited, commotioned) את the camp of Egypt, 25 And removed את the revolving item (ohphan-wheel) from their chariots, and they drove in heaviness (difficulty): and Egypt said, I will flee from the face of Israel; for יהוה is warring for them against Egypt.

26 And יהוה said to Moses, Stretch out (Stretch forth) את-your hand over (upon) the sea, and the waters, they will return upon (over) Egypt, over (upon) his chariots, and over (upon) his horsemen (hoofmen). 27 And Moses stretched out (stretched forth) את-his hand over (upon) the sea, and the sea returned to his permanence (toughness, roughness) to the face of breaking period (morning); and את-Egypt fled to meet (encounter) him; and hwhy overthrew (shook off) את-Egypt in the midst of the sea. 28 And the waters, they returned, and they covered (concealed) את-the chariots, and את-the horsemen (hoofmen), to all of the force (valiant ones) of Pharaoh that were coming in the sea after them; Was not sha-ahr-remained among them unto one. 29 And the Sons of Israel, they walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall to them from their right and from their small (left). 30 And יהוה saved את-Israel in that day from the hand of Egypt; and Israel saw את-Egypt was dead upon the lip of the sea. 31 And Israel saw את-the Great Hand which יהוה did (worked) against Egypt: and the People, they revered (awed, feared) יהוה , and they believed in יהוה and in Moses, His servant.



THE EXODUS ROUTE: THE CROSSING OF THE RED SEA 

The account of the Red Sea crossing requires that the other side of the Red Sea is to be outside of the ancient Egyptian empire and into the ancient land of Midian, which was the area where Moses stayed with his father-in-law, Jethro, for forty years. This is the account, which is noted in the book of Exodus

Exodus 2:15b

Exo 2:15 ...And Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and dwelt by the well.

This is where we read afterward is the well of Jethro, which was in the land where Moses dwelled for forty years before returning to Egypt.


There are three different theories to where the Red Sea is located:

FIRST THEORY: THE ISRAELITES CROSSED THE RED SEA AT THE GULF OF SUEZ
 

There are some that say that the Red Sea crossing was at the Gulf of Suez. Here a couple of maps showing the Gulf of Suez area

As you see in the map, the crossing's depth would have been apporximately 50 meters, which would be approximately 164 feet. This depth was more than enough to cover Pharaoh and his army and kill them. But There is a problem. Look at this chart again and think to yourself, if you were Pharoah and you saw the sea parting and the Israelites were crossing over it with a pillar of cloud in front of you, would you wait there until the pillar of the cloud disappeared or would you go around the shoreline and meet them on the other side? You would take the latter and not take chances of losing some, or all, of your men and charge into unfamiliar territory.

Here's another issue: If you look at this map below
 

 

Notice the red box marks the location of the theoretical Gulf of Suez crossing.

Also, if you notice the territory of Egypt that the green color on the chart covers the other side of the Gulf of Suez as well. So if the Israelites wanted to be completely free from Egypt they would have to be outside of Egypt's borders. It would have been pointless going from one side of the gulf to the other side inside the same territory unless they travel a further distance until they reach the Egyptian border where the Egyptian army could still pursue them on their turf.

Also on the big map, you see Pi-Hahiroth is in the gulf. It should be a "land" location not a water location. Everytime you see a location mentioned that is water based, it would refer to it as a sea, water, brook or torrent. Also you should see that "Pi" means "mouth" and "HaHiroth" means "the gorges", and it applies to a crack where water went through. Since Pi-Hahiroth on the map is not one of these, we could disqualify this theory.

Overall, we can conclude that this is not the correct location of the Red Sea crossing.

 

SECOND THEORY: THE ISRAELITES CROSSED THE RED AT THE STRAITS OF TIRAN

These are maps of the Straits of Tiran. It is located in the southeastern point of the Sinai Peninsula and in the Gulf of Aquaba's southestern point in Saudi Arabia.

There is an issue with this crossing area. If you look at the map above where it points to the Israel's camp, it is not located where they could potentially be isolated. Here is a map showing a wider view of the peninsula
 

 

Looking at the map below there are many possible land routes that the Isralites could run away without crossing the gulf, especially that large long distance of beach behind them, assuming that Pharaoh and his army were coming from the southern tip
 

 

Even if this location was the point where Pharaoh and his army were before the Israelites crossing,  there was only "the pillar" of the cloud, not two, not five and not ten. The scriptures do not emphasize that they were trapped, but they were supposed to be surrounded with no major place to escape. These arrows show that this area gave the Israelites many escape routes while the pillar of the cloud stood between the two camps. This theory of this location is now in question.

Continuing, here is a possible route map of the sea crossing 
 

 

There are issues with this crossing: There are islands near the crossing. These could be potential land havens for the Egyptian army in case they were covered by the water that some may survive. It defeats hwhy's purpose for the army to be completely destroyed without any means of a safe haven. Also, in my opinion, there is not supposed to be any land mass in the crossing so that the Israelites depend completely on hwhy and trust in Him to get them safely across the land bridge. The sea bed, though, is leveled enough for them to cross over without any major depth alterations and deep enough for the Egyptian army to die. Another issue is Pi-Hahiroth is called "Mouth of the gorges", and it is located on land, not on water. As I mentioned before, if it was a water based location, it would mentioned it as a sea, water, torrent or brook. If you also see, Baal Zephon is located on an island between the two main lands. Baal Zephon is to be where the Israelites were facing at the gulf, and it was supposed to be their located destination to cross over, not a place to pass along the way.

Conclusion: There is not enough evidence that this is the location of the red sea crossing.
 

THIRD THEORY: THE ISRAELITES CROSSED AT THE RED SEA AT NEWEIBA BEACH
 
There are others that say the Red Sea crossing was at Nuweiba Beach. These are maps and pictures of the location.

Measuring, it shows that the width from one edge of the side of the mountain to the other edge of the mountain is about 380 feet. This width can probably fit roughly sixty vehicles beside one another, snug, to each edge of both sides of the mountains.

There are some skeptics that say, regarding this location, that the depth dipped too much for them to cross over. These charts below disprove that notion.
 

 

As it shows above, it is a slight gradual and not a deep trench.

As one can see, the above charts show a slight gradual decline.

Dennis Schelles, son-in-law of the late Ron Wyatt (1933-1999), from Ark Discovery International, noted to me in an email about the depth of the crossing: 


"A diver has no problem cruizing across the gulf there at depths averaging 100 feet. It is only about 200 feet at the deepest."

The body of water crossing the Nuweiba Beach, shown in the red box area, is mainly in red and yellow. If you look at the depth chart on the right, it is no deeper than between 750 and 800 meters. Nowhere else in the gulf do you see that shallow level going across the majority of a potential water crossing that doesn't have islands. 

Whether it is 100-200 feet or a gradual decline to 765 meters at its deepest, these charts show that it was probable for the Israelites to cross this area in the gulf.


THIS WAS REVEALED TO ME!!!

This is a revelation I have yet to hear from anyone as of January 22, 2018, and I give the glory to hwhy for revealing this to me.

Looking at the name of the water location of what is called "the Gulf of Aqaba". If one notices the name "Aqaba" there is a Hebrew word similar to that name, it is the Hebrew word "Eykev"- Ayin, Quph, Bet (bqe). It is translated "heel". I give Bill Cloud of Shoreshim Ministries credit for this part of the information. There is an account with the heel, which is noted in the Torah portion of Toldoth, in the book of Genesis

Genesis 25:21-25

Gen 25:21 And Isaac intreated (interceded) to יהוה for the behalf of his woman (wife), for she was barren: and hwhy intreated (interceded) for him, and Rebekah, his woman (wife), she conceived. 22 And the sons struggled (struggled together) in her nearness; and she said, If is so, to why am I at this? And she went to inquire יהוה-את.
23 And יהוה said to her, Two nations are in your womb, and two communities shall break out (bolt out) from your belly; and a community shall be bonier (mightier) than a community; and the many (multiple, ?elder?) shall serve the few (little, ?younger?). 24 And her days to birth, they were fulfilled, and behold, twins (completions) were in her womb. 25 And the first came out, all of him of red, like splendidness (ampleness) of hair; and they called his name Esau.

The younger son bore Esau's heel on his hand, hence his name became Jacob, in Hebrew it is "Yah-ah-kohv"- Yod, Ayin, Kuph, Bet (bqey), and according to Bill Cloud, the Yod in Paleo-Hebrew is a picture of a "hand", hence Jacob's name means "Hand on the Heel".

This is the $64,000 question: "Is the name "Aqaba" a play of, or named in an altered way, after the Israelites patriarch "Jacob", and if so, does this give more concrete evidence that this gulf was named after the patriarch which the Israelites crossed over"? I would give it a super strong:

YES!!!

They were actually calling the Red Sea "the Gulf of Jacob".

The next pictures show two pillars that were found, one on Nuweiba Beach and on the other side of the gulf. Here's what was written from Covenant Keepers:

"Ron found a column lying face down on the shore. On the Saudi side he found another exactly the same with an inscription in Archaic Hebrew that read, "MIZRAIM (Egypt), SOLOMON, EDOM, DEATH, PHARAOH, MOSES, YAHWEH." He believed that they were erected by Solomon to commemorate the crossing of the Red Sea here. The inscriptions on the column found lying on the shore were eroded away and the Egyptian authorities have since set it in concrete."
