This Torah portion could also be nicknamed "My Three Sons".
NOTE: All of the yous and yours underlined as "you" and "your" indicates that the you and the your are plural. Also any of the words that are in bold pink lettering as "you" refers to the feminine gender, but it is only applied when it does not commonly refer to a woman. This only is applied to this week's Torah portion text at this time.
First of all, why they had the first eight verses in last week's Torah portion of B'reyshith which pertains to Noah, I don't know.
CHAPTER 6
Genesis 6:9-22
Gen 6:9 These are the birthings of Noah: Noah was a righteous man, complete (perfect) in his generations, Noah walked את-The Elohim. 10 And Noah birthed three sons, את-Shem, את-Ham, and את-Japheth. 11 And the Earth, she was corrupt to the Face of The Elohim, and the Earth, she was filled with violence. 12 And Elohim saw את-the Earth, and behold, was corrupt of her; for all flesh had corrupted את-His Way upon the Earth. 13 And Elohim said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come to My Face; for the Earth is filled of violence from their faces; and behold, I will waste them off [(cast them off, ruin them off)] את-the Earth. 14 Do (Make) for yourself an ark of trees (wood) of gopher (cypress) [(gopher trees, cypress trees, gopher wood, cypress wood)]; you shall do (make) nests (rooms) in את-the ark, and you shall cover (coat, atone) her from the housing (inside) and from without (outside) on pitch (bitumen, cover). 15 And this is which you shall do (make) of her: three hundred cubits shall be the length of the ark, fifty cubits shall be her breadth, and thirty cubits shall be her height. 16 You shall do (make) a window (noon side window, pressed side window) for the ark, and by a cubit you shall finish her from by above; and you shall set the door of the ark on her side; of lowers (unders, [cellars]), twos, and a threes you shall do (make) of her. 17 And behold I, I am with bringing את-the flood of waters upon the Earth to waste (cast, ruin) all flesh which is in him the Breath of Life from under the Heavens; all which are on the Earth shall expire. 18 And I will establish את-My Covenant with you; and you shall come in to the ark, you, and your sons, and your woman, and the wives of your sons with you, 19 and from every living thing from all flesh, two from all, you shall bring to the ark to keep alive with you; they shall be remembered one (male) and perforated one (punctured one, female), 20 from the flyers (fowl) by his kind, and from the animals by her kind, from every creeper of the Ground by his kind, two from all shall come to you to keep alive. 21 And you shall take for yourself from all food which shall be eaten, and you shall gather for yourself; and shall be for you and for them for bread. 22 And Noah did; so was done according to [(as)] all which Elohim commanded him.
(NOTE: Not all verses will have comments)
Verse eleven
11 And the Earth, she was corrupt to the Face of The Elohim, and the Earth, she was filled with violence.
Looking at the word VIOLENCE
The Hebrew word for violence is "khah-mahs"- Khet, Mem, Samek (חמס). It is from Strong's Concordance number 2555, and its definition
From H2554; violence; by implication wrong; by metonymy unjust gain: - cruel (-ty), damage, false, injustice, X oppressor, unrighteous, violence (against, done), violent (dealing), wrong.
from 2554 "khah-mahs" (חמס), and its definition
A primitive root; to be violent; by implication to maltreat: - make bare, shake off, violate, do violence, take away violently, wrong, imagine wrongfully.
This is where we get "Hamas", the same name of the violent sect of the Palestinians.
In the world today it is corrupted, and it is filled with violence with the influence of Islamic militants.
Verse fourteen
14 Do (Make) for yourself an ark of trees (wood) of gopher (cypress) [(gopher trees, cypress trees, gopher wood, cypress wood)]; you shall do (make) nests (rooms) in את-the ark, and you shall cover (coat, atone) her from the housing (inside) and from without (outside) on pitch (bitumen, cover).
Looking at the word ARK
The Hebrew word for ark is "tey-vah"- Tav, Bet, Heh (תבה). It is from Strong's concordance number 8392, and its definition
Perhaps of foreign derivation; a box: - ark.
This is where we get our modern English word "tub". In other words, hwhy was telling Noah to make a "super size tub".
Looking at the word GOPHER (CYPRESS)
The Hebrew word for gopher (cypress) is "goh-phehr"- Gimel, Peh, Resh (גפר). It is from Strong's Concordance number 1613, and its definition
From an unused root, probably meaning to house in; a kind of tree or wood (as used for building), apparently the cypress: - gopher.
Verses fifteen and sixteen
15 And this is which you shall do (make) of her: three hundred cubits shall be the length of the ark, fifty cubits shall be her breadth, and thirty cubits shall be her height. 16 You shall do (make) a window (noon side window, pressed side window) for the ark, and by a cubit you shall finish her from by above; and you shall set the door of the ark on her side; of lowers (unders, [cellars]), twos, and a threes you shall do (make) of her.
This ark is 450 feet long, by 75 feet wide, by 45 feet high. There were three floors which would average about fifteen feet high per floor. Also, based on the definition of the ark, it could be also translated as "box". יהוה did not just say "...these cubits by these cubits, and taper off on both ends and add a superstructure (also called housing) with a bunch of windows on top of it and the roof tilting downward toward the edge to drain off the rain". This was "one big gigantic box" with only one window. Also, this was not a regular ship that one can steer, otherwise, hwhy would have asked Noah to add rudders and/or a steering wheel to it, but it was one colossial squarish rectangular cargo barge with a flat bottom, so that it would minimize the tilting the boat when the waves try to tilt it harshly to and fro. Plus, in my humble opinion, the entrance door was one medium to gigantic size ramp-door. It was a door, but it was also a ramp for Noah, his family and all the creatures of every sort of the earth to ascend to enter into the ark. That is why hwhy had to be the one to close the ramp-door.
Notice in verse sixteen that it only says "window"- singular, not "windows"- multiple, like what models and pictures show by having a row of windows from end to end.
This is a rough sketch, not to scale, of an idea of where the "window" could have been located in relation to the entrance/ramp
Verse eighteen
18 And I will establish את-My Covenant with you; and you shall come in to the ark, you, and your sons, and your woman, and the wives of your sons with you,
Notice that the yous are boldened in pink. This means that יהוה was speaking to Noah's soul.
Verse twenty
20 from the flyers (fowl) by his kind, and from the animals by her kind, from every creeper of the Ground by his kind, two from all shall come to you to keep alive.
The animals are mentioned as to "her kind", meaning the earth's kind. It is noted from last week's Torah portion of B'reyshith, in the book of Genesis
Genesis 1:25 And Elohim did (made) את-the beasts of the Earth to her kind, and את-the animals to her kind, and of את all creepers of the Ground to his kind. And Elohim saw for goodness.
Verse twenty-one
21 And you shall take for yourself from all food which shall be eaten, and you shall gather for yourself; and shall be for you and for them for bread.
יהוה did not command Noah to take in water. There really was no need to, if it was going to rain forty days and forty nights. The rain would have naturally supplied the water for them. It was most probable that Noakh had made a water tank to store water for them and the animals during their stay on the ark.
CHAPTER 7
Genesis 7:1-24
Gen 7:1 And יהוה said to Noah, You and all of your household shall come to the ark; by you have I seen righteous towards My Face in this generation. 2 From all of the clean animals you shall take of seven, of seven for yourself, man (male) and his woman (female): and from the animal that she is not clean shall be of two, a man (male) and his woman (female). 3 Also from the flyer (bird) of the Heavens, of seven, of seven, remembered one (male) and perforated one (punctured one, female); to keep seed alive upon the face of all of the Earth, 4 for by still seven days, I will bring mater-rain upon the Earth forty days and forty nights; and I will wipe away (abolish, blot out) את-every substance which I have done (made) from upon the face of the Ground. 5 And Noah did according to all which יהוה commanded him. 6 And Noah was a son of six hundred years, and the flood was watering upon the Earth, 7 and Noah went in, and his sons, and his woman, and the wives of his sons with him, to the ark, from the face of the waters of the flood, 8 from the clean animals, and from the animals which are not clean, and from the flyers (fowl), and all which creep upon the Ground, 9 they went to את-Noah to the ark of two, of two, remembered one (male) and perforated one (punctured one, female), as the which Elohim commanded Noah.
10 And was, by the seven days, and the waters of the flood, they were upon the Earth. 11 In the six hundredth year, in the year of the life of Noah, in the second renewed month of the seven ten (seventeen) day of the renewed month, on this day, all of the eye-fountains of the abundant deep, they had burst, and the windows (sluice?) of the Heavens, they were opened, 12 and the geshem-rain (gushing rain) was upon the Earth forty days and forty nights. 13 On this same day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and the Japheth, the sons of Noah, and the woman of Noah, and the three wives of his sons with them, to the ark; 14 They and all of the beasts (living things) by (to) her kind, and all of the animals by (to) her kind, and all of the creepers that creep upon the Earth by (to) his kind, and all of the flyers (fowl) by (to) his kind, every bird of every wing. 15 And they went to Noah to the ark of two, of two, from all flesh which is in him the Breath of Life. 16 And the ones going in, remembered one (male) and perforated one (punctured one, female), from all flesh, they went in as the which Elohim commanded him: and יהוה shut in unto Himself. 17 And the flood was upon the Earth forty days; and the waters, they multiplied (increased) and they lifted up (bored up, carried up) את-the ark, and she arose from upon the Earth, 18 and the waters they were mighty (prevailing) and they had multiplied (increased) much upon the Earth; and the ark, she went forth (walked?) upon the face of the waters. 19 And the waters were mighty (prevailing) much, much, [(very much)] upon the Earth; and all of the exalted mountains which were under all the Heavens were concealed (hidden). 20 Five ten (Fiveteen, Fifteen) cubits from of the ascendingwards (upwards) the waters, they were mighty (had prevailed); and the mountains, they were concealed (hidden), 21 and all flesh expired that creeped upon the Earth, among flyers (fowl), and among animals, and among living things (beasts), and among the swarmers that swarm upon the Earth, and all of the Adam (Adamkind): 22 all which breathed the Breath of Life in his nostrils from all which was on the dry area, they died. 23 And את-all of the substance that was upon the face of the Ground, they were wiped out (abolished, blotted out), from Adam (Adamkind), unto animal, unto creepers, and unto flyers (birds) of the Heavens; and they were wiped out (abolished, blotted out) from the Earth: howbeit (surely) Noah and the which were with him in the ark remained. 24 And the waters, they were mighty (prevailing) upon the Earth fifty and a hundred days.
(NOTE: Not all verses will have comments)
Verse two
2 From all of the clean animals you shall take of seven, of seven for yourself, man (male) and his woman (female): and from the animal that she is not clean shall be of two, a man (male) and his woman (female).
For those who say that all the animals were clean before the flood, this verse prooves that there were clean animals and unclean animals before the flood.
It was stated earlier in chapter six of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 6:19 and from every living thing from all flesh, two from all, you shall bring to the ark to keep alive with you; they shall be remembered one (male) and perforated one (punctured one, female),
By saying the clean animals shall come in seven by seven, they mean seven pairs, male and female, for a total of fourteen per clean animal kind. Wheras the unclean animals shall only have two pairs, male and female, for a total of four per unclean animal kind. It is possible that hwhy allowed two pairs for the unclean animals, because if one of the males or one of the females die, there would be another for a backup to keep the species from extinction. Also if one notices that hwhy purposed to have more clean animals than unclean animals, becuase He wants this world to be dominated with clean animals. Unfortunately, the world now has about an equal amount of pigs to cows. Later, during Yeshua's time, there were a bunch of pigs in the other side of the Jordan where he set free a man bearing many demons which is noted in the Gospel of Luke
Luke 8:26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. 27 And when He went forth to land, there met Him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Yeshua, he cried out, and fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with Thee, Yeshua, Thou Son of hwhy Most High? I beseech Thee, torment me not. 29 (For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) 30 And Yeshua asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. 31 And they besought Him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. 32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought Him that He would suffer them to enter into them. And He suffered them. 33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
Another reason for the extra pairs of clean animals is that in a short period of time later, Noah is going to sacrifice clean animals in chapter eight of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 8:20 And Noah built an altar to יהוה; and took from all of the clean animals, and from all of the clean flyers (fowl), and elevated Elevation Offerings (Ascension Offerings, Burnt Offerings) on the altar
There are those that say that all the animals were clean, or kosher, before the flood, but chapter eight's passage proves otherwise that there was a distinction between clean animals and unclean animals during Noah's time before the flood, as well as after the flood that he elvated clean animals on the altar.
!!!כבד לך יהוה
One question that comes to me that a couple of times it noted the animals in the Hebrew as "ish", meaning man, and "isha", meaning a woman instead of "zachar" and "n'keyvah". Why was ish and isha used? I don't have an answer to that at this time.
Verses ten and eleven
10 And was, by the seven days, and the waters of the flood, they were upon the Earth. 11 In the six hundredth year, in the year of the life of Noah, in the second renewed month of the seven ten (seventeen) day of the renewed month, on this day, all of the eye-fountains of the abundant deep, they had burst, and the windows (sluice?) of the Heavens, they were opened, 12 and the geshem-rain (gushing rain) was upon the Earth forty days and forty nights.
It shows that the floods started on the seventeenth day of the second month of Ziv/Iyar. This would be also the same day that the alternate time of Passover/Unleavened Bread mentioned in the Torah portion of B'ha-Alothkha, in the book of Numbers
Numbers 9:9 And יהוה spoke to Moses, to say, 10 Speak to the Sons of Israel, to say, If a man, a man, shall be unclean by a soul or on a distant way, of you or of your generations, and shall be doing the Passover to hwhy. 11 In the second renewed month, on the four ten (fourteen) day, between the mixing periods (evenings), they shall do him; upon the unleavened (unleavened bread) and bitters, they shall eat him. 12 They shall not remain (be left) of him until breaking period (morning), and they shall not break a bone on him: they shall do him according to (as) all of the Statutes of the Passover. 13 And the man of whom he is clean, and is not on a way, and has failed to do the Passover, and that soul shall be cut off from her People: for the Karban Offering (Drawing Near Offering, Gift Offering) of hwhy was not brought near in his Appointed Time, that man shall bear his sin. 14 And when a stranger (sojourner) shall sojourn with you, and does the Passover to the hwhy; according to (as) the Statute of the Passover, and according to (as) His Ordinance, so shall do: One Statute shall be for you, and for the stranger (sojourner), and for the native of the land.
After calculating, this occured on the year 1656 Age of Man, or about 2344 BC. Also in calculation this was the very year that Methuselah passed away at the age of 969 years, the oldest man recorded in human history. The question comes to me: "Did Methuselah die before the flood or during the flood?" In my humble but strong opinion, it was most likey that he died before the flood.
This Numbers passage is based on the Commandmnet of touching a dead person in the Torah portion of Khukath, in the book of Numbers
Numbers 19:11 The one touching on the dead of any soul of (to) an Adam, and shall be unclean seven days. 12 He shall purify on himself on the third day, and shall be clean on the seventh day: and if shall not purify on the third day and on the seventh day, shall not be clean.
The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were given an alternate date in case one was unclean on the original date, the first month, and could not partake of it then. It is ironic that the flood started on the seventeenth day of the second month, the same time during the alternate period of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Is it possible when the ark was raised on the seventeenth day, that it occurred on the first day of the week, the day of First Fruits, to begin the fifty day count to Shavuoth. This would parallel Yeshua being resurrected on First Fruits on the first day of the week to start the fifty day count as well.
Take the seventeenth day of the second month and subtract seven days, it will take it back to the tenth day of the second month. This was the calculated day that Noah, his family and every non-human were in the ark.
Indirectly related, though it is not a significant date on this month, it could have been an alternate date on the tenth day of the first month where in the Exodus story in Egypt, a lamb was taken in to an Israelite's home in Egypt, as noted in the Torah portion of Bo, in the book of Exodus.
Exodus 12:3 Speak to all of the Congregation of Israel, to say, On the ten of this renewed month, and they shall take a man for themselves a lamb for a house of their father, a lamb for the house:
This activity on that day was fulfilled when Yeshua came into Jerusalem on the tenth day of the first month which is noted in the Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Yeshua two disciples, 2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. 3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, the Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Yeshua commanded them, 7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set Him thereon.
Yeshua had to fulfill the Exodus lamb to be the Sacrifice Lamb for all of us. This would connect Him to Noah and the rest going into the ark, because Noah walked with hwhy, as noted in the previous chapter of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 6:9 ...Noah was a righteous man, perfect in his generations, Noah walked את-the Elohim.
because Yeshua went into Jerusalem in the tenth day of the first month. As Noah was perfect when he went into the ark, Yeshua was perfect when He went into Jerusalem.
Verses fourteen and fifteen
14 They and all of the beasts (living things) by (to) her kind, and all of the animals by (to) her kind, and all of the creepers that creep upon the Earth by (to) his kind, and all of the flyers (fowl) by (to) his kind, every bird of every wing. 15 And they went to Noah to the ark of two, of two, from all flesh which is in him the Breath of Life.
This made me think of the tsunamis in Sri Lanka, Sumatra and Thailand, that before the tsunamis hit these lands, the elephants, buffalo and other animals headed to higher ground. It is highly probable that the animals instincts were inherited from their animal ancestors who went into Noah's ark, and that hwhy gave them that instinct to be passed down to their animal descendants to show not just that hwhy exists but that Noah also existed as well.
!!!כבד לך יהוה
Verse sixteen
This caught my attention when it said "...and יהוה shut unto Himself.", meaning hwhy shut the door. In other words, He did it for Noah, just like the Bridegroom for the five wise virgins in the Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
There was no mention who shut the door behind the brides of the Bridegroom, Yeshua, but in my humble opinion, it was most likely יהוה, the Heavenly Father, that shut it. It could also be Yeshua, Himself, since He noted Himself to be the Door which is noted in the Gospel of John
John 10:7 Then said Yeshua unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the Door of the Sheep. 8 All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers: but the Sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have Life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Amen.
Bill Cloud of Shoreshim Ministries and Jacob's Tent noted that Noah was mentioned in the Brith Khadashah being saved from the judgment of the world, which are noted by the apostle Luke, which is noted in the book of Hebrews, and by the apostle Peter in his epistle
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of יהוה of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of יהוה waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Verse seventeen
17 And the flood was upon the Earth forty days; and the waters, they multiplied (increased) and they lifted up (bored up, carried up) את-the ark, and she arose from upon the Earth,
Calculating the time line, the forty days time line takes us to the twenty seventh day of the third Biblical month of Sivan.
Verses nineteen and twenty
19 And the waters were mighty (prevailing) much, much, [(very much)] upon the Earth; and all of the exalted mountains which were under all the Heavens were concealed (hidden). 20 Five ten (Fiveteen, Fifteen) cubits from of the ascendingwards (upwards) the waters, they were mighty (had prevailed); and the mountains, they were concealed (hidden),
This shows us that the high mountains were hidden fifteen cubits under water, which is about twenty two and a half feet. To us today this is not that deep for a colossial ship.
Verses twenty two and twenty three
22 all which breathed the Breath of Life in his nostrils from all which was on the dry area, they died.
Notice that all those that had the Breath of Life that did not enter into the ark died, but what about the fish and the sea creatures? They were the only ones that survived, because, of course, they naturally lived in the sea. They were the lucky ones. They needed no ark to save them. The purpose of this, because hwhy knew as long as they were alive, with the exception of Noah and his family, the people would stay corrupt forever with the Breath of Life in them. He had to destroy them and saved Noah and his descendants, because Noah was the only one righteous before hwhy, and was worthy to carry that Breath of Life.
Verse twenty four
24 And the waters, they were mighty (prevailing) upon the Earth fifty and a hundred days.
This takes the time line to the seventeenth day of the seventh month of Ehtanim/Tishri, which means the end of the 150 days arrived on the third day of the Fall High Holy Day of the Feast of Sukkoth which is revealed in the next chapter.
CHAPTER 8
Genesis 8:1-22
Gen 8:1 And Elohim remembered את-Noah, and את-all of the living things, and את-all of the animals which were with him in the ark: and Elohim had go over a wind upon the Earth, and the waters, they became pacified; 2 And the eye-fountains of the deep and the windows of the Heavens were shut up (had stopped, surrendered), and the geshem-rain (gushing rain) from the Heavens was restrained (withheld); 3 and the waters, they had returned from upon the Earth, that were going (retreating, walking?) and the returning (retreating, decreasing?): and from the end of fifty and a hundred days, the waters, they were decreasing (diminishing, abating). 4 And the ark, she rested in the seventh renewed month, on the seven ten (seventeen) day of the renewed month, upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters, they were going and decreasing (diminishing, abating) until (unto) the tenth renewed month: in the tenth, on the one of the renewed month, the heads of the mountains, they appeared (were seen).
6 And was from the end of forty days that Noah opened את-the window of the ark which was done (made): 7 And he sent out את-the raven, and going out, was going out and returning, until the waters were dried up (ashamed?) from upon the Earth. 8 And sent out את-the dove from with him to see the easing of him the waters from upon the face of the Ground; 9 and the dove did not find rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were upon the face of all of the Earth: and sent out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him to the ark. 10 And waited still another seven days; and addingly (again) sent out את-the dove from the ark; 11 and the dove, she came to him by the time of the mixing period (evening); and behold, in her mouth was an olive branch (leaf) plucked off: and Noah knew that the waters were easing up from upon the Earth. 12 And waited still another seven days; and sent out את-the dove; and did not adding (again) return to him any more.
13 And was in the one and six hundredth year, in the first on the one of the renewed month, the waters, they were dried up (desolate) from upon the Earth: and Noah removed את-the consealment (covering) of the ark, and looked, and behold, the face of the Ground was dried up (desolate).
14 And in the second renewed month, on the seven and twenty day of the renewed month, the Earth was abased (dry), 15 and Elohim spoke to Noah, to say, 16 Go out from the ark, you, and your woman, and your sons, and the wives of your sons with you. 17 All of the living things which is with you of all flesh among flyers (fowl), and among animals, and among all creepers that creep upon the Earth, bring out with you; and they will swarm (breed) on the Earth, and they shall fructify and they shall multiply upon the Earth. 18 And Noah went out, and his sons, and his woman, and the wives of his sons with him: 19 all of the beasts (living things), and all of the creepers, and all of the flyers (fowl), of all creeping upon the Earth, they came out from the ark by their families.
20 And Noah built an altar to יהוה; and took from all of the clean animals, and from all of the clean flyers (fowl), and elevated Elevation Offerings (Ascension Offerings, Burnt Offerings) on the altar. 21 And יהוה smelled את-a pleasant scent; and יהוה said in His Heart, I will not add (again) to curse את-the Ground any more on the sake of the Adam (Adamkind); for the imagination (conception, form) of the heart of the Adam (Adamkind) is evil from his youth; and I will not add (again) to smite את-every living thing any more as the which I have done. 22 Unto all of the days of the Earth of seedtime and of harvest, and cold and the heat, and summer (harvest) and the winter (ripeness), and day and the night, shall not repose (desist, rest, relax).
(NOTE: Not all verses will have comments)
Verse one
1 And Elohim remembered את-Noah, and את-all of the living things, and את-all of the animals which were with him in the ark: and Elohim had go over a wind upon the Earth, and the waters, they became pacified;
Elohim called for a wind to go forth over all the earth to subside the waters. This was a similar matter when Moses and the Israelites were at the Sea of Reeds, Known today as the Gulf of Aquaba (the Gulf of Jacob) in the Torah portion of B'shalakh , in the book of Exodus
Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out (stretched forth) את-his hand over (upon) the sea; and יהוה made go (depart, walked away) את-the sea on a fierce (harsh, strong) east wind all of the night, and made את-the sea to dry, and the waters, they broke open (ripped open, zipped open, divided).
Verses two through four
2 And the eye-fountains of the deep and the windows of the Heavens were shut up (had stopped, surrendered), and the geshem-rain (gushing rain) from the Heavens was restrained (withheld); 3 and the waters, they had returned from upon the Earth, that were going (retreating, walking?) and the returning (retreating, decreasing?): and from the end of fifty and a hundred days, the waters, they were decreasing (diminishing, abating). 4 And the ark, she rested in the seventh renewed month, on the seven ten (seventeen) day of the renewed month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
The ark rested during the Feast of Sukkoth, which is from the fifteenth day to the twenty first day of the seventh month of Tishri/Ethanim. This also connects to the verse in the previous chapter of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 7:24 And the waters were valiant (prevailing) upon the Earth fifty and a hundred days.
Subtracting the seventeenth day of the seventh by the seventeenth day of the second month comes to 150 days. That means, the forty days and nights of rain were within the 150 day period, until the water was shallow enough for the ark to land. That means there were 110 days of the 150 without the rain.
Looking at the word SHUT UP (STOPPED, SURRENDERED)
The Hebrew word for shut up (stopped, surrendered) is "sah-khahr"- Samek, Kaph, Resh (סכר). It is from Strong's Concordance number 5534, and its definition
A primitive root; to shut up; by implication to surrender: - stop, give over. See also H5462; H7936.
from 5462 "sah-gahr" (סגר), and its definition
A primitive root; to shut up; figuratively to surrender: - close up, deliver (up), give over (up), inclose, X pure, repair, shut (in, self, out, up, up together), stop, X straitly.
Notice the similarities between the two Hebrew words. One could say that they are "cousin words".
Verse five
5 And the waters, they were going and decreasing (diminishing, abating) until (unto) the tenth renewed month: in the tenth, on the one of the renewed month, the heads of the mountains, they appeared (were seen).
This was eighty four days later the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat.
As I noted in last week's Torah portion of B'reyshith, in the book of Genesis, the translators translated the Hebrew word "echad" as first, but it really should be translated "one". This is also applied in this passage as "one", because the Hebrew word "echad" in this passage is a "uniter", and "unites" the rest of the days of any Biblical month as well as "uniting" the Biblical month itself.

Verse six
6 And was from the end of forty days that Noah opened את-the window of the ark which was done (made):
After thorough research, this was in the same date that the rains stopped in chapter eight. The date of this account was also the twenty eighth day of the third month of Sivan.
Compare the window of this verse to the other scripture account in chapter six of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 6:16 You shall do (make) a window (noon side window, pressed side window) for the ark, and by a cubit you shall finish her from by above; and you shall set the door of the ark on her side; of lowers (unders, [cellars]), twos, and a threes you shall do (make) of her.
Looking at the following words:
WINDOW [CHAPTER 6]
The Hebrew word for window is "tsoh-hahr"- Tsade, Heh, Resh (צהר). It is from Strong's Concordance number 6672, and its definition
From H6671; a light (that is, window); dual double light, that is, noon: - midday, noon (-day, -tide), window.
from 6671 "tsah-hahr" (צהר), and its definition
A primitive root; to glisten; used only as denominative from H3323, to press out oil: - make oil.
WINDOW [CHAPTER 8]
The Hebrew word for window is "khal-lohn"- Khet, Lamed, Vav, Nun Sophit (חלון). It is from Strong's Concordance number 2474, and its definition
A window (as perforated): - window.
I'm still unclear about the window that is placed on the ark noted in the chapter six account, but it acts like that it could be based on the definition as a window on the top of the ark, but I'm not certain.
Verses seven through twelve
7 And he sent out את-the raven, and going out, was going out and returning, until the waters were dried up (ashamed?) from upon the Earth.
Right now, I am still configuring if the dove was sent out at the same time as the raven or was sent out at a later date. I will reveal the time line of the raven shortly.
Peter Thalhofer of El Shaddai Ministries, noted in this week's Torah portion, regarding the word "waited" in verses ten and twelve.
Looking at the word WAITED
The Hebrew word for waited is "khool"- Khet, Vav, Lamed (חול). It is from Strong's Concordance number 2342, and its definition
A primitive root; properly to twist or whirl (in a circular or spiral manner), that is, (specifically) to dance, to writhe in pain (especially of parturition) or fear; figuratively to wait, to pervert: - bear, (make to) bring forth, (make to) calve, dance, drive away, fall grievously (with pain), fear, form, great, grieve, (be) grievous, hope, look, make, be in pain, be much (sore) pained, rest, shake, shapen, (be) sorrow (-ful), stay, tarry, travail (with pain), tremble, trust, wait carefully (patiently), be wounded.
Peter noted that in other words, Noah was waiting in "sorrow" and "grief" and "travail", because he did not know if he and all in the ark will be able to walk out of the ark.
Peter Thalhofer compared the other word "waiting" in verse twelve to the same in verse ten.
Looking at the word WAITING
It is the Hebrew word for waiting is "yah-khahl"- Yod, Khet, Lamed (יחל). It is from Strong's Concordance number 3176, and its definition
A primitive root; to wait; by implication to be patient, hope: - (cause to, have, make to) hope, be pained, stay, tarry, trust, wait.
Peter noted that after the dove came back with an olive branch in verse eleven, Noah was waiting with "hope". Thank you יהוה for Peter.
In verse twelve, there is a possible theory that this dove is the same one that came down on Yeshua when He was baptized at the Jordan River. Looking at the account in the Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Yeshua from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest Thou to me? 15 And Yeshua answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then He suffered him. 16 And Yeshua, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and he saw the Spirit of Elohim descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: 17 And lo a voice from the heavens, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Verse thirteen
13 And was in the one and six hundredth year, in the first on the one of the renewed month, the waters, they were dried up (desolate) from upon the Earth:...
The only reason it would say this, because Noah's birthday was on the first day, in the first month. יהוה was in a way saying to Noah "Happy Birthday, Noah. My birthday gift to you is the waters of the flood has ceased from the earth".
It says "in the beginning", because יהוה was revealing to us that the new year started in the first month before hwhy officially called it the beginning of months to Moses noted in the Torah portion of Bo, in the book of Exodus
Exodus 12:1 And יהוה spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, to say, 2 This renewed month shall be to you the head of renewed months: he shall be to you the first for the renewed months of the year.
This was a good way to start the new Biblical year with the waters to be gone.
Looking back at verse seven, it says
Genesis 8:7 And he sent out את-the raven, and going out, was going out and returning, until the waters were dried up (ashamed?) from upon the Earth.
This shows us that the raven was going out and in from the twenty seventh day of Sivan until the waters were dried up on the first day in the first month of the 601'st year of Noah's life, on his birthday.
There is no clarification in the scriptures to when the dove was sent out. One theory noted by Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries is that it could have been sent out at the same time as the raven. It this theory is true, the time line would have put the second time the dove was sent out of Tammuz 4, and the third time on Tammuz 11.
Verses fourteen through nineteen
This tells us that though the waters dried up from the earth, the land was still soaked. It took another fifty seven days before the land was dried up. This shows us that account of Noah's ark lasted for one year and ten days.
Notice that the yous in verses sixteen and seventeen are boldened in pink. This means that hwhy was speaking to Noah's soul.
THIS IS A REVELATION!!!
Giving praise to יהוה, look at the process of the earth from the sky view
As I noted in last week's Torah portion of B'reyshith, the contour of the Earth is compared to a baby in the womb, hence the land is a land baby. Looking at the perspective to the land baby as a human being in general, if one sees the process of a human being going under water and coming back up again, this can be compared to a person receiving "water baptism"
!!!כבד לך יהוה
This is compared to what John the Immerser noted in the Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of hwhy, make his paths straight. 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
One can conclude that the water baptism was in the beginning.
!!!כבד לך יהוה
Verse twenty
20 And Noah built an altar to יהוה; and took from all of the clean animals, and from all of the clean flyers (fowl), and elevated Elevation Offerings (Ascension Offerings, Burnt Offerings) on the altar.
As related from Genesis chapter seven verse two, this verse shows that Noah knew the difference between the clean and unclean animals after the flood.
CHAPTER 9
Genesis 9:1-29
Gen 9:1 And Elohim blessed את-Noah and את-his sons, and said to them, Fructify, and multiply, and fill את-the Earth, 2 and the reverence (awe, fear) of you and the terror (dread, discouragement) of you shall be upon all of the living things (beasts) of the Earth, and upon every flyer (bird) of the Heavens, among all which she creeps on the Ground and among all of the fishes of the sea; they are given in your hands. 3 Every creeper which he is alive shall be to you for food; as the green herb have I given את-all to you. 4 Also (But, Howbeit) the flesh among his soul, his blood you shall not eat, 5 and also (surely), את-your blood of your souls I will require (demand); of the hand of every living thing will I require (demand) him, and from the hand of את-the Adam; from the hand of a man of his brother I will require (demand) the soul of the Adam. 6 A shedder of blood of the Adam, against (among) Adam shall his blood be shed: for in the image (shadow, resemblance) of Elohim was made the Adam, 7 and you, fructify and multiply; swarm (breed) on the Earth, and multiply on her.
8 And Elohim said to Noah, and to his sons with him, to say, 9 And I, behold, I am establishing את-My Covenant with you, and את-your seed after you; 10 and את every living soul which is with you, among the flyers (fowl), among the animals, and among every living thing of the Earth with you; from all going out of the ark, to every living thing of the Earth. 11 And I have established את-My Covenant with you; and shall not cut off any more all flesh from the waters of the flood; and shall not be any more from a flood to waste away (ruin) the Earth.
12 And Elohim said, This is the Sign of the Covenant which I am giving between Me and between you, and between every living soul which is with you for generations of ages (forever): 13 I have given את-My Bow in the cloud, and she shall be for a Sign of the Covenant between Me and between the Earth. 14 And shall be in My clouding clouds upon the Earth, and the Bow shall be seen of her in the clouds: 15 And I will remember את-My Covenant which is between Me and between you, and between every living soul among all flesh; and shall not any more be the waters for flooding to waste away (ruin) all flesh. 16 And the Bow, she shall be in the clouds; and I shall see her to remember the Covenant of Ages (for Ever) between Elohim and between every living soul among all flesh which is upon the Earth. 17 And Elohim said to Noah, This is the Sign of the Covenant which I have established between Me and between all flesh which is upon the Earth.
18 And the sons of Noah that went out from the ark, they were Shem, and Ham, and the Japheth: and Ham, he is the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah: and from them were scattered (spread out, migrated) of all of the Earth. 20 And Noah began being a man of the Ground and planted a vineyard: 21 and drank from the wine, and was drunk; and was uncovered (exposed) in the midst of her tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw את the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren among the outside, 23 and Shem and the Japheth took את-the clothing, and set (put, laid) him upon their two shoulders, and they went backwards, and they concealed (covered) את-the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they, they did not see the nakedness of their father. 24 And Noah awoke from his wine and knew את which the younger (little, smaller) son of his had done unto him, 25 and said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant (slave) of servants (slaves) shall be to his brothers. 26 And said, Blessed be יהוה, Elohim of Shem; and Canaan shall be a servant (slave) to him. 27 Elohim shall enlarge to Japheth, and shall tabernacle in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be a servant (slave) to them. 28 And were all of the days of Noah living after the flood three hundred and the fifty years. 29 And all of the days of Noah were nine hundred years and the fifty years: and was the death (and died).
(NOTE: Not all verses will have comments)
Verse one
1 And Elohim blessed את-Noah and את-his sons, and said to them, Fructify, and multiply, and fill את-the Earth,
Biblical movies show only Noah when יהוה spoke to him after they came out of the ark, but יהוה spoke to Noah and his sons together for the first time. יהוה also made Noah's sons to hear His voice. This is compared to when יהוה tried to speak to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai in Exodus chapter nineteen, but they were afraid of His voice and the thunderings and lightnings.
Also in the fifth and sixth days back in Genesis chapter one, when hwhy originally said to Adam "fructify and multiply", He was restating this to Noah and to his sons to make a new start and multiply the earth. This is what יהוה first thought of doing for Moses after the Israelites believed in the ten spies' negative report, noted in the Torah portion of Sh'lakh L'kha, in the book of Numbers
Numbers 14:11 And hwhy said to Moses, Unto mourning (agnuish, groaning, lament, befalling, meet) shall this People despise (provoke, scorn) Me? And unto mourning (agnuish, groaning, lament, befalling, meet), they shall not believe in Me on all of the Signs which I have done in his nearness? 12 I will strike them on the pestilence, and I will dispossess (disinherit) him, and I will do of (make of) you of a greater and bonier (mightier) nation than him.
Verses three and four
3 Every creeper which he is alive shall be to you for food; as the green herb have I given את-all to you. 4 Also (But, Howbeit) the flesh among his soul, his blood you shall not eat,
I don't know if יהוה was saying that He was allowing Noah and his family "a temporary emergency measure" by including eating any of the unclean animals, but based on the amount of clean to unclean, this is questionable. Though there was no doubt animals were breeding during the days in the ark, it would take a long time for the animals to replenish a descent enumeration on the earth. Another purpose to bring more clean animals than unclean animals to the ark is to for Noah and his descendants to have the ability to make sacrifices to hwhy.
Verse eight
8 And Elohim said to Noah, and to his sons with him, to say,
hwhy actually spoke to the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham and Japeth. There had to be a reason hwhy wanted to speak to the sons. It was to show that it was their responsibility to pass it to their sons. Also, hwhy knew that they were going to be dispersed by their clans throughout the earth, and hwhy wanted to make sure that His promise to them would be known throughout the world.
Verses nine through eleven
9 And I, behold, I am establishing את-My Covenant with you, and את-your seed after you; 10 and את every living soul which is with you, among the flyers (fowl), among the animals, and among every living thing of the Earth with you; from all going out of the ark, to every living thing of the Earth. 11 And I have established את-My Covenant with you; and shall not cut off any more all flesh from the waters of the flood; and shall not be any more from a flood to waste away (ruin) the Earth.
To play on Tony Robinson from Restoration of Torah Ministries who uses chiastic structures in his teachings, as an example, one of the same color in each part shows the similarities between the the parts:
Verse nine through eleven is Segment A, Containing Part A colored in red, and Part B, colored in Green. This is יהוה's promise to Noah and his sons
Verses twelve through fifteen
This is Segment B, with Parts A and B like Segment A, but it adds an Part A Prime, colored in yellow, which relates to Part A, noting יהוה's symbol of His promise to them
12 And Elohim said, This is the Sign of the Covenant which I am giving between Me and between you, and between every living soul which is with you for generations of ages (forever): 13 I have given את-My Bow in the cloud, and she shall be for a Sign of the Covenant between Me and between the Earth.
Verses sixteen and seventeen
16 And the Bow, she shall be in the clouds; and I shall see her to remember the Covenant of Ages (for Ever) between Elohim and between every living soul among all flesh which is upon the Earth. 17 And Elohim said to Noah, This is the Sign of the Covenant which I have established between Me and between all flesh which is upon the Earth.
This is Segment C, containing the Part A Prime and Part B
16 And the Bow, she shall be in the clouds; and I shall see her to remember the Covenant of Ages (for Ever) between Elohim and between every living soul among all flesh which is upon the Earth. 17 And Elohim said to Noah, This is the Sign of the Covenant which I have established between Me and between all flesh which is upon the Earth.
Verse sixteen also reveals that the rainbow is feminine.
Unfortunately there has been a certain movement that took the rainbow that hwhy created, and corrupted it for their own worldly purpose, taking away the credit from יהוה and what He did for mankind, and thus breaking the Third Word (Commandment) of hwhy to not take the Name of יהוה to vanity, or it can be interpreted to use it for destructive purposes. In this case, this movement is not giving Him the credit that is due Him.
Verse twenty three
23 and Shem and the Japheth took את-the clothing, and set (put, laid) him upon their two shoulders, and they went backwards, and they concealed (covered) את-the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they, they did not see the nakedness of their father.
It shows that Shem and Japeth put their father's clothes on their two shoulders, meaning that one of the sons on the right side of Noah had his father's garment in front of his left shoulder and the other son on his father's left side had his father's garment on his right shoulder. When they went backwards, they were only seeing the garment they were bearing on their shoulders, because they would be dragging the clothing, causing it to be streched out from them. As a result, the two brothers would be able to see anything below the clothing and cover their father's nakedness without seeing his body. The same was that the two brothers were going backwards.
Verses twenty four and twenty five
24 And Noah awoke from his wine and knew את which the younger (little, smaller) son of his had done unto him, 25 and said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant (slave) of servants (slaves) shall be to his brothers.
I am asking myself, "How did Noah knew what Ham did when he was drunk and asleep, or was he asleep"? Noah was probably not asleep, for it did not say in the scripture that he was told about the matter after he woke up. If that was the case, it would most like have been that Noah's wife would have told him what happened to him. This was not the case. It was possible that Ham had been a tattle-taler throughout his life, and Noah knew of Ham's history and just simply added two and two together.
Also, Noah cursed Canaan, Ham's son, for the result of Ham exposing his nakedness. The issue is that Canaan is Ham's last born son which is noted in the next chapter of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 10:6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
Canaan is the fourth born- the last born- of Ham. Why did Noah curse him? Why didn't he curse Ham's firstborn? The definition below will explain it.
Looking at the word CANAAN
The Hebrew Word for Canaan is "K'nah-ahn"- Kaph, Nun, Ayin, Nun Sophit (כנען). It is from Strong's Concordance number 3667, and its definition
From H3665; humiliated; Kenaan, a son of Ham; also the country inhabited by him: - Canaan, merchant, traffick.
from 3665 "kah-nah" (כנע), and its definition
A primitive root; properly to bend the knee; hence to humiliate, vanquish: - bring down (low), into subjection, under, humble (self), subdue.
Canaan must have been born in which his appearance was "humiliating", or he was born in a humiliating way. Also notice that Canaan's name means "subdued". Whatever the circumstance, Noah chose Canaan on the account of his name's sake. Canaan became the "scapegoat" for his father exposing Noah's nakedness. In summary, Ham "humiliated" his father, Noah, by exposing his nakedness to his brothers, and in a way subduing his father by not honoring him. As a result, Noah judged Ham's acts against him by cursing "humility" and "subdued"- a.k.a. "Canaan"!

Ending this week's Torah portion passage, Daniel Botkin of Gates of Eden made in my opinion a wonderful symbolic comparison to Noah and the flood account.
Thank you Daniel.
CHAPTER 10
Genesis 10:1-32
Gen 10:1 Now these are the birthings of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and the Japheth: and they were birthed to them sons born after the flood.
2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

10 And the first of his kingdom, she was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land went forth Asshur, and builded את-Nineveh, and the city את-Rehoboth, and את-alah, 12 and את-Resen between Nineveh and between Calah: she is the great city.
13 And Mizraim birthed את-Ludim, and את-Anamim, and את-Lehabim, and את-Naphtuhim, 14 And את-Pathrusim, and את-Casluhim, which they came out from there, Philistim, and את-Caphtorim.

26 And Joktan birthed את-Almodad, and את-Sheleph, and את-Hazarmaveth, and את-Jerah, 27 and את-Hadoram, and את-Uzal, and את-Diklah, 28 and את-Obal, and את-Abimael, and את-Sheba, 29 and את-Ophir, and את-Havilah, and את-Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.
30 And their dwelling was from Mesha at your going to Sephar, a mountain of the east.
31 These were the sons of Shem by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
32 These were the families of the sons of Noah by their birthings in their nations: and of these were the nations spread out (migrated, scattered) on the Earth after the flood.
(NOTE: Not all verses will have comments)
Verse one
1 Now these are the birthings of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and the Japheth: and they were birthed to them sons born after the flood.
Looking at their names and their definitions:
Shem (In Hebrew "Sheym" (שם) (S8035)): Name, appellation, honor, authority, character
Ham (In Hebrew "Khahm" (חם) (S2526)): Hot, warm
Japeth (In Hebrew "Yah-pheth" (יפת) (S3315)): Expansion, open, roomy, enlarge, entice, flatter
On a postive end, putting the definitions of their names together, it makes a sentence:
"One of Name who is warm will provide room"
This is Yeshua who is a warm character will provide room for us as believers, as He noted in the Gospel of John
John 14:2 In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
On a postive end, putting the definitions of their names together, it makes a sentence:
"One of character who is hot shall entice"
This is HaSatan who uses his heatness to entice everyone, especially us believers in the Messiah.
Verse two

Putting the definitions of their names together, it makes a sentence:
"An enticer (or flatterer) shall cease who holds a precious golden object bearing an intoxicating and banqueting course who sows fermented wine"
This would be the harlot of Babylon which is noted in the apostle John's book of revelation
Revelation 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Yeshua: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.... 8:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Putting the definitions of their names together, it makes a sentence:
"Shall be completed (end) by a bunch that sprinkled to trembled and grounded as a gnawing bone"
This could relate to an account noted by the apostle John in the book of Revelation
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; Rev 6:13 And the stars of the heavens fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the Throne, and from the Wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the Great Day of His Wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Verses four and five

Putting the definitions of their names together, it makes a sentence:
"Banqueting with the El of Freedom Who is a Gem on an island and walks gently"
This is possibly based in the apostle Paul's letter to the assembly in Thessalonica
1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Yeshua died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Yeshua will hwhy bring with Him. 15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from the heavens with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Shofar of hwhy: and the dead in Messiah shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Also on the basis of the sentence, based on the apostle Paul's letter to the assembly in Thessalonica, we believers in the Messiah will be banquetting with Yeshua for our "Wedding Feast" as the Brides of Yeshua, the Bridegroom.

25 And to Eber birthed two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days was the Earth divided; and the name of his brother was Joktan.

Joktan (In Hebrew "Yahk-tahn" (Njqy) (S3355)): He will be made little, diminish, diminutive, small, no account
Looking at the word PELEG
The Hebrew word for Peleg is "Peh-lehg"- Peh, Lamed, Gimel (פלג) is from Strong's Concordance number 6389, and its definition
The same as H6388; earthquake; Peleg, a son of Shem: - Peleg.
from 6388 "peh-lehg" (פלג), and its definition
From H6385; a rill (that is, small channel of water, as in irrigation): - river, stream.
from 6385 "pah-lahg" (פלג), and its definition
A primitive root; to split (literally or figuratively): - divide.
In other words, Peleg was named sometime after the earth had a great shaking and "divided" the land apart creating the continents that we have today. Calculating the time line, Peleg was born in the 1,757th year of mankind, after the formation of Adam. That would put his birth around 2,243 BC. That means that the earth was divided around 2,243 BC. As I noted, it probably did not mean the earth started dividing at Peleg's birth, but it was a recent act during Eber's time before Peleg was born. So Eber called him that name to make record of this periodic account.
Continuing calculating, based on the Biblcial account, the earth's division occurred around 200 years before Abram's birth, and around 300 years before Isaac's birth. So by the time Abram was born, the division of the world was still young, and not millions of years ago.
Also, Noah was only 701 years old when Peleg was born, which means that Noah was alive when his descendants were building the tower of Bavel. This also means that it was only 100 years after the flood when the earth was divided, and Noah was alive to witness or heard of the earth's division.
The main reason יהוה divided the earth was to prevent the peoples in the future to try to reunite again and build another tower, and He has been successful unto this day. When people live in separate lands, they cannot get back together, whereas if the land was still in one mass, they could get everyone to migrate to one location. The division of the land has prevented this from happening.
These are maps showing the image of what the lands might have looked like when they were in one land mass before they broke apart. It is known as Pangaea
If one looks at the outlined shape of the united lands, it looks a baby in its stages in the womb
Compare the images side by side
It backs up the premise in Genesis chapter one when "Mother Earth" "birthed" a baby- the large land baby which is noted in the Torah portion of B'reyshith, in the book of Genesis
Genesis 1:9 And Elohim said, Collect the waters from under the Heavens to one place, and the dry place, she shall appear, and became so. 10 And Elohim called to the dry land Earth,...
It did not say "lands"- plural, but "land"- singular. This was one giant land mass, and it was made in the shape of a developing baby. I don't think anyone can say the earth does not know what it was making.
Ending this week's Torah portion chapter, these are maps showing the general dispersion of the land masses which became our continents today
This actually did happen, not in millions of years, but at the earliest, one day. hwhy can say one word, and the earth would dissapear. Crazy as it sounds, this was the female earth's act of "dividing" her "land baby", from the command of יהוה, because hwhy knew that He had to keep the people "separated" to prevent the people of the world to reunite in oneness again. This is just a sample of hwhy's power.

CHAPTER 11
Genesis 11:1-32
Gen 11:1 And all of the Earth was of one lip, and of one word (ones words, speech). 2 And was, in their journeying (pulling up) from the East, and they found a cleaved valley (wide level valley, plain valley) in the land of Shinar; and they dwelled there. 3 And they said a man to his neighbor, Come, we will white bricking white bricks, and we will burn for burning. And the white brick, she was to them for stone, and slime (bitumen) was to them for morter. 4 And they said, Come, we will build for us a city and a tower (great thing), and his head shall be in the Heavens; and we shall do (make) for ourselves a name, lest we become spread out (migrated, scattered) upon the face of all of the Earth. 5 And יהוה descended (came down) to see את-the city and את-the tower (great thing), which the sons of the Adam, they are building. 6 And יהוה said, Behold, people are one, and her lip is one to all of them, and this they are beginning (profaning) to do: and now they shall not be restrained (clipped off) of all that they purpose (plan, imaginate) to do. 7 Come, We will descend (go down), and We will confound (mingle, mix) there their lips, that they may not comprehend (hear) a man a lip of his neighbor. 8 And יהוה spread out (migrated, scattered) them from there upon (over) the face of all of the Earth: and they made idle (forsake) to build the city. 9 Upon thus was called her name Babel; for there יהוה confound (mingled, mixed) the lips of all of the Earth: and from there did יהוה spread them out [(migrated them, scattered them)] upon (over) the face of all of the Earth.
10 These were the birthings of Shem: Shem was a son of a hundred years, and was the birthing of את-Arphaxad two years after the flood: 11 And was the life of Shem after he birthed את-Arphaxad five hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
12 And was the life of Arphaxad five and thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Salah: 13 And was the life of Arphaxad after he birthed את-Salah three years and four hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
14 And was the life of Salah thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Eber:15 And was the life of Salah after he birthed את-Eber three years and four hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
16 And was the life of Eber lived four and thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Peleg: 17 And Eber lived after he birthed את-Peleg thirty years and four hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
18 And was the life of Peleg thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Reu: 19 And was the life of Peleg after he birthed את-Reu nine years and two hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
20 And was the life of Reu two and thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Serug: 21 And was the life of Reu after he birthed את-Serug seven years and two hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
22 And was the life of Serug thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Nahor: 23 And was the life of Serug after he birthed את-Nahor two hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
24 And was the life Nahor nine and twenty years, and was the birthing of את-Terah: 25 And was the life of Nahor after he birthed את-Terah nineteen years and a hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
26 And was the life Terah seventy years, and birthed את-Abram, את-Nahor, and את-Haran.
27 And these were the birthings of Terah: Terah birthed את-Abram, את-Nahor, and את-Haran; and Haran birthed את-Lot. 28 And was the death of Haran upon the face of his father, Terah, in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Casdim. 29 And Abram and Nahor took for themselves wives: the name of the woman of Abram was Sarai; and the name of the woman of Nahor was Milcah, daughter of Haran, father of Milcah, and father of Iscah. 30 And Sarai, she was barren; was not to her a lad (child, boy). 31 And Terah took את-Abram, his son, and את-Lot, son of Haran, son of his son, and את Sarai, his daughter-in-law, woman of Abram, his son; and he went out with them from Ur of the Casdim to go to the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and they dwelled there. 32 And the days of Terah, they were five years and two hundred years: And was the death of Terah in Haran.
(NOTE: Not all verses will have comments)
Verses one and two
1 And all of the Earth was of one lip, and of one word (ones words, speech). 2 And was, in their journeying (pulling up) from the East, and they found a cleaved valley (wide level valley, plain valley) in the land of Shinar; and they dwelled there.
There are two different scenarios that Noah's ark is located based on this premise. First, there are those who claim that Noah's ark is at Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey. We can mark the locations of this claim of the ark's location in eastern Turkey and the ancient city of Babylon located in modern Iraq
There is a problem with the relation of these locations. I respectfully do not agree with this location of Noah's ark for three reasons:
One: The scripture says in verse one that they came "from the east", meaning that they traveled "westward", and according to the two locations, it shows the route in a "Southern" direction which is not the right direction.
Two: The ark is to be a squarish rectangle barge, but this is a "tapered" boat
It is my humble opionion that it was not Noah's ark.
Three: The location of Mount Ararat in Turkey is a "single" mountain. It says in the scripture "mountains" meaning there are a mutitulde of them.
These are images of Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey
Also, there are two of these mountains called "Mount Ararat"
There is a discrpency to the "two" Mount Ararats. These theories show that this could not be the true Mount Ararat.
In order for the people to travel West they would have to come from the East meaning as far as "Iran"
A man named Arch Bonnema, connected with Bob Cornuke of baseinstitute.org says that they found items that pertain to an ark in Mount Seuleman at 13,126 feet, fifty miles north of Tehran, Iran.
The direction between the two locations show a more westernish route to get to Babylon.
One can watch the videos of these accounts by Arch Bonnema and Bob Cornuke on You Tube

NOAH'S ARK
THE DISCOVERY OF NOAH'S ARK
BOB CORNUKE
THE LOST MOUNTAINS OF NOAH
In verse one of this week's Torah portion passage, the phrase "one lip" in the Hebrew text is "d'vah-reem ah-khah-deem" (Myrxa Myrbd). Should it be literally translated "ones lips", or does it mean that it is a great one lip? I do not have the answer at this time.
Verses three and four
3 And they said a man to his neighbor, Come, we will white bricking white bricks, and we will burn for burning. And the white brick, she was to them for stone, and slime (bitumen) was to them for morter. 4 And they said, Come, we will build for us a city and a tower (great thing), and his head shall be in the Heavens; and we shall do (make) for ourselves a name, lest we become spread out (migrated, scattered) upon the face of all of the Earth.
In verse three, the brick is feminine, because they are part of a built structure.
Verses five through seven
5 And יהוה descended (came down) to see את-the city and את-the tower (great thing), which the sons of the Adam, they are building. 6 And יהוה said, Behold, people are one, and her lip is one to all of them, and this they are beginning (profaning) to do: and now they shall not be restrained (clipped off) of all that they purpose (plan, imaginate) to do. 7 Come, We will descend (go down), and We will confound (mingle, mix) there their lips, that they may not comprehend (hear) a man a lip of his neighbor.
In verse seven, the people were saying the word "come" for their own purposes. This was hwhy's response to the people's act of "come". יהוה returned the ball back to them by using the word "come" for His Purpose. hwhy possibly touched their lips and changed their languages. The reason the people said what they said in verse four, because they were afraid they would be scattered. It was most likely that Job based on the the verses by the people in this week's Torah portion passage, and יהוה noted it in the book of Job
Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
a.k.a. as the popular coined believer's phrase "What you greatly fear shall come to pass".
Also, in their souls, they were afraid to be scatted, but they would be going against the word of יהוה, when He said to Noah and his sons in chapter nine of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 9:1 And Elohim blessed את-Noah and את-his sons, and said to them, Fructify, and multiply, and fill את-the Earth,
Thus, what the people in Shinar were really saying to hwhy was "We will not have You tell us to be scattered. We want to stay in one place".
Verses eight and nine
8 And יהוה spread out (migrated, scattered) them from there upon (over) the face of all of the Earth: and they made idle (forsake) to build the city. 9 Upon thus was called her name Babel; for there יהוה confound (mingled, mixed) the lips of all of the Earth: and from there did יהוה spread them out [(migrated them, scattered them)] upon (over) the face of all of the Earth.
This reveals to us that Babel was founded by Nimrod.
Looking at the word BABEL
The Hebrew word for Babel is "Bah-vehl"- Bet, Bet, Lamed (בבל). It is from Strong's concordance number 894, and its definition
From H1101; confusion; Babel (that is, Babylon), including Babylonia and the Babylonian empire: - Babel, Babylon.
from 1101 "bah-lahl" (בלל), and its definition
A primitive root; to overflow (specifically with oil); by implication to mix; also (denominative from H1098) to fodder: - anoint, confound, X fade, mingle, mix (self), give provender, temper.
Babel was named for "confound" which is the same word that hwhy noted in verse seven in this week's Torah portion chapter
7 Come, We will descend (go down), and We will confound (mingle, mix) (בלל) there their lips, that they may not comprehend (hear) a man a lip of his neighbor.
In verse eight of this week's Torah portion passage, the Hebrew word for scatter is from Strong's Concordace number 6327 "poots": Peh, Vav, Tsade Tsophit (פוץ). This is the same word that the people used in verse four of this week's Torah portion chapter
4 And they said, Come, we will build for us a city and a tower (great thing), and his head shall be in the Heavens; and we shall do (make) for ourselves a name, lest we become spread out (migrated, scattered) (פוץ) upon the face of all of the Earth.
This was an act of "reaping and sowing". The people sowed the Hebrew word, and יהוה reaped the same Hebrew word against them. Plus what they wanted to do was going against יהוה's Word that he spoke to Adam and Khavah (Eve) as well as Noakh, which is noted in the Torah portion of B'reyshith and this week's Torah portion, in the book of Genesis
Genesis 1:27 And Elohim created את-the Adam in His Image, created him in the Image of Elohim, created them male (remembered one) and female. 28 And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said to them, Fructify and multiply, and fill את-the Earth,...
Genesis 9:1 And Elohim blessed את-Noah and את-his sons, and said to them, Fructify, and multiply, and fill את-the Earth,
יהוה had to make sure that His Word was being fulfilled. In today's society, this week's Torah portion passage has been progressivly coming full circle again with the people of the earth trying to make a "One World Government", and they are becoming more one in the world thanks to today's technology which is going aginst יהוה Will today. יהוה's Judgment will come to pass against His Will in the near future in the End Times.
Daniel Botkin of Gates of Eden made some interesting symbolic comparisons to the Babel account:
Thank you Daniel.
Verses ten through thirteen
10 These were the birthings of Shem: Shem was a son of a hundred years, and was the birthing of את-Arphaxad two years after the flood: 11 And was the life of Shem after he birthed את-Arphaxad five hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters. 12 And was the life of Arphaxad five and thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Salah: 13 And was the life of Arphaxad after he birthed את-Salah three years and four hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
Looking at the word SALAH
The Hebrew word for Salah is "Sheh-lakh"- Shin, Lamed, Khet (שלח). It comes from Strong's Concordance number 7974, and its definiton
The same as H7973; Shelach, a postdiluvian patriarch: - Salah, Shelah. Compare H7975.
from 7973 "sheh-lakh" (שלח), and its definition
From H7971; a missile of attack, that is, spear; also (figuratively) a shoot of growth, that is, branch: - dart, plant, X put off, sword, weapon.
from 7971 "shah-lakh" (שלח), and its definition
A primitive root; to send away, for, or out (in a great variety of applications): - X any wise, appoint, bring (on the way), cast (away, out), conduct, X earnestly, forsake, give (up), grow long, lay, leave, let depart (down, go, loose), push away, put (away, forth, in, out), reach forth, send (away, forth, out), set, shoot (forth, out), sow, spread, stretch forth (out).
It was just interesting that Salah's name means "sent". Was it possible that his parents gave him this name, because they were either in the middle of their journey or shortly after the journey Westward? It was strongly possible.
Also notice that Arphaxad was born two years after the flood.
Verses fourteen and fifteen
14 And was the life of Salah thirty years, and was the birthing of את-Eber:15 And was the life of Salah after he birthed את-Eber three years and four hundred years, and was the birthing of sons and daughters.
Looking at the word EBER
The Hebrew word for Eber is "Ey-vehr"- Ayin, Bet, Resh (עבר). It is from Strong's Concordance number 5677, and its definition
The same as H5676; Eber, the name of two patriarchs and four Israelites: - Eber, Heber.
from 5676 "ay-veyr" (עבר), and its definition
From H5674; properly a region across; but used only adverbially (with or without a preposition) on the opposite side (especially of the Jordan; usually meaning the east): - X against, beyond, by, X from, over, passage, quarter, (other, this) side, straight.
from 5674 "ah-vahr" (עבר), and its definition
A primitive root; to cross over; used very widely of any transition (literally or figuratively; transitively, intransitively, intensively or causatively); specifically to cover (in copulation): - alienate, alter, X at all, beyond, bring (over, through), carry over, (over-) come (on, over), conduct (over), convey over, current, deliver, do away, enter, escape, fail, gender, get over, (make) go (away, beyond, by, forth, his way, in, on, over, through), have away (more), lay, meddle, overrun, make partition, (cause to, give, make to, over) pass (-age, along, away, beyond, by, -enger, on, out, over, through), (cause to, make) + proclaim (-amation), perish, provoke to anger, put away, rage, + raiser of taxes, remove, send over, set apart, + shave, cause to (make) sound, X speedily, X sweet smelling, take (away), (make to) transgress (-or), translate, turn away, [way-] faring man, be wrath.
This is where we get our modern English word "over" also as "cross over", but in general it translates "go over". Eber was most likely named by their parents during the time the people crossed over to the plains in the land of Shinar. This would take it to the time they arrived at Shinar around 1,731 years of the age of man. This would take it around 2,269 BC. As mentioned above, Noah was 667 years old when his descendant's parents "crossed over" to Shinar.
There was one of the two people who bore their ancestor Eber's title name, and it's in the Torah portion of Lekh L'kha, in the book of Genesis
Genesis 14:13 And the escaped one came and told to Abram the Hebrew;...
Looking at the word HEBEREW
The Hebrew word for Hebrew is "Ee-vree"- Ayin, Bet, Resh, Yod (עברי). It is from Strong's Concordance number 5680, and its definition
Patronymic from H5677; an Eberite (that is, Hebrew) or descendant of Eber: - Hebrew (-ess, woman).
In other words, Abram was surnamed "the Crossed Over One", because he "crossed over" from Haran- the land of his family, to Canaan- the land of promise. Abram was NOT a Jew. The term "Jews" was not coined until the Southern House of Judah's returned from the Babylonian captivity about 516 BC. In order for Abram/Abraham to be a Jew, he would have been a descendant of the two tribes of the Southern House of Judah, one of the tribe of Judah or of the tribe of Benjamin.
We in Yeshua the Messiah today are also "Hebrews". There are no Jews, there are no Gentiles, and there are no Lost Ten Northern Tribes, nor Southern Two Tribes, but "Hebrews". Yes, we can research out our heritage, mainly through genealogy, and configure out what house or houses we are descendants. I have been doing my ancestral research myself, and have found fascinating connections. It is a benefit of knowledge for each of us individually, but in the end, we are all Hebrews in Messiah. Thank you יהוה for father Abraham.
Verses twenty seven and twenty eight
27 And these were the birthings of Terah: Terah birthed את-Abram, את-Nahor, and את-Haran; and Haran birthed את-Lot. 28 And was the death of Haran upon the face of his father, Terah, in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Casdim.
Looking at their names and their definitions:
Terah (In Hebrew "Teh-rakh" (xrt) (S8646)): Unknown (could be based on a combination of S8446 "toor" (rwt) or S8447 "tohr" (rt): Meander, guide, sent, search, seek, succession + S7306 and 7307 "roo-akh" (xwr): Blow, breathe, exhalation, spirit = Search the spirit, sent the spirit)
Abram (In Hebrew "Ah-vrahm" (Mrba) (S87)): High father, father lifted up
Nahor (In Hebrew "Nah-khohr" (rwxn) (S5152)): Snorer, snort, nostrils
Haran (In Hebrew "Hah-rahn" (Nrx) (S2039)): Mountaineer, mountain, range of hills
Lot (In Hebrew "Loht" (jwl) (S3876)): Veil, covering, wrap, cast
Putting the definitions of their names together, it makes a sentence:
"The Spirit was sent to the Father who was lifted up to a mountain who is casted (or covered)"
A possible connection to this would be when Yeshua went up unto a mountain and transfigured which is noted in the Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 17:1 And after six days Yeshua taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and His Face did shine as the sun, and His Raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with Him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Yeshua, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if Thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a Bright Cloud overshadowed them: and behold a Voice out of the Cloud, which said, This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him. 6 And when the disciples heard It, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7 And Yeshua came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. 8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Yeshua only.
Another distant possibility could be when Yeshua was tempted by the devil which is noted in the Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 4:1 Then was Yeshua led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of Elohim, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of hwhy. 5 Then the devil taketh Him up into the Holy City, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the Temple, 6 And saith unto Him, If Thou be the Son of Elohim, cast Thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Yeshua said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt hwhy thy Elohim. 8 Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto Him, All these things will I give Thee, if Thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Yeshua unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship hwhy thy Elohim, and Him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.
Looking at the word UR
The Hebrew word for Ur is "Oor"- Aleph, Vav, Resh (אור). It is from Strong's Concordance number 218, and its definition
The same as H217; Ur, a place in Chaldaea; also an Israelite: - Ur.
from 217 "oor" (אור), and its definition
From H215; flame, hence (in the plural) the East (as being the region of light): - fire, light. See also H224.
from 215 "ohr" (אור), and its definition
A primitive root; to be (causatively make) luminous (literally and metaphorically): - X break of day, glorious, kindle, (be, en-, give, show) light (-en, -ened), set on fire, shine.
Ur means "light" or "lumination".
Notice that in verse twenty six that Terah birthed Abram, Nahor and Haran at seventy years old, meaning that they were "triplets".
Verse twenty nine
29 And Abram and Nahor took for themselves wives: the name of the woman of Abram was Sarai; and the name of the woman of Nahor was Milcah, daughter of Haran, father of Milcah, and father of Iscah.
Looking at their names and their definitions:
Abram (In Hebrew "Ah-vrahm" (Mrba) (S87 [1 + 7311)): Exalted father
Sarai (In Hebrew "Sah-rai" (yrs) (S8297)): Princess
Looking at their names and their definitions:
Nahor (In Hebrew "Nah-khohr" (rwxn) (S5152)): Snorer, snort, nostrils
Milcah (In Hebrew "Meel-kah" (hklm) (S3876)): Queen
Haran (In Hebrew "Hah-rahn" (Nrx) (S2039)): Mountaineer, mountain, range of hills
Milcah (In Hebrew "Meel-kah" (hklm) (S3876)): Queen
Iscah (In Hebrew "Yees-kah" (hkoy) (S3252)): Watch, observant
Iscah was Lot's sister.
This is a map of the table of nations scattered after the dispersion
This is a list of the total ages of the lives from Noah to Terah:
Noah: 950 years
Shem: 600 years
Arpaxad: 438 years
Salah: 433 years
Eber: 464 years
Peleg: 239 years
Reu: 239 years
Serug: 230 years
Nahor: 148 years
Terah: 205 years
One can see that יהוה was slowly fulfilling His goal for man's life to be one hundred and twenty years from Genesis chapter six of this week's Torah portion
Genesis 6:3 And יהוה said, My Spirit shall not strive (judge) on the Adam for ages in their ignorance (error); he is flesh: and his days, they shall be a hundred and twenty years.
This is a table of the comparsion of the age of Noah to all the births of his direct descendants of Shem to Abram (Note: Methusaleh and Lamech will be carried over from last week's Torah portion of B'reyshith sinc they were still alive during Noah's time)
If calculating correctly, this would take the time line of Abram's birth to approximately 2052 BC.
By the way, according to this week's Torah portion chapter, Peleg was named because of the division of the earth, and based on the year of Peleg's birth, he was born about 2243 BC, about the time of the earth's division.
This reveals to us that Abram's ancestors to Noah were still alive at the time of his birth. Also, Noah would had been alive for another fifty eight years after Abram's birth before he died, meaning that Abram would have been fifty eight years when Noah passed away.
Verses thirty through thirty two
30 And Sarai, she was barren; was not to her a lad (child, boy).
Terah died at 205 years old. Looking ahead, looking at Abram departing Haran to sojourn to Canaan in the 75th year of Abram's life, which is noted in the Torah portion of Lekh L'kha, in the book of Genesis
Genesis 12:1 And יהוה said to Abram, Go of yourself from your land, and from your birth place (kindred), and from the house of your father, to the land that I will show you: 2 and I will make you of a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, and shall be a blessing: 3 And I will bless from your blessers [(those blessing you)], and from your despisers [(those despising (cursing) you)] will I curse: and in you, all families of the Ground will be blessed. 4 And Abram went as the which hwhy spoke to him; and Lot went out with him: and Abram was a son of five years and seventy years in his going out (departure) from Haran,
This means that Terah was still alive at 145 years old when יהוה called Abram to leave his home at the age of 75 years. This means that Terah lived another sixty years before his death, meaning that he was still alive when Isaac was born, but died five years before Isaac was betrothed to Rebekah.
Terah's family is explained. It has not been revealed in this Torah portion, but Sarai is Abram's half brother. Abraham is explaining this to Pharaoh regarding her, which is noted in the Torah portion of Vay-Yeyra, in the book of Genesis
Genesis 20:11 And Abraham said, For I said, Except, the Reverence (Fear) of Elohim is not in this place; and would slay me upon the word of my wife. 12 And also truly is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became to me for a wife.
To save confusion of Terah's family in verses twenty seven through twenty nine, this is a pedigree of Terah's family
Ending, this is a time line chart of Noah's account on the ark
This is an alternate chart of Noah's account on the ark with the possible time line of the three times that Noah sent out the dove
After all this, I need a Noakh....... "rest".
That ends this week's Torah portion commentary.
